What's new

REMINDER: CJ Miles is only 7 months older than Jeremy Evans.

Its kinda weird.

Makes CJ seem much younger than I perceive him, and makes Jeremy seem much older than I perceive him.

But CJ is on his 7th year and Evans his 2nd. Miles has had heavy minutes and Evans almost none.

Meaning their professional skills will be at different stages, but physically they are at the same stage (not quite peak).

Agreed that physically CJ has years left. But being in his 7th year he should have learned the mental toughness and consistency by now. Cj is all he is ever going to be. Evans will improve to some degree (hopefully)

How much of mental toughness and consistency is connected to brain maturity (which also peaks typcially at about 25)? Not that I'm saying he will improve much in either, but how do you know it is a feature of experience instead of overall maturity?

Either way after 7 years in league he should have developed it by now if it was going to develop

If CJ hadn't gone straight from high school like he did he'd still only be in his second year of medical school. Had he gone on a mission or into the military or had toured with Phish he'd still probably be in his sophomore year right now. But, alas, nobody ever wants to put that in context and would rather bag on him.

I get that he is young. I also get that he has been a pro for 6 going on 7 years now... I would be thrilled if CJ played like we have seen from time to time. The reality however is that he has a 40 point game one night and a 5 point game the next.

If he got held back 7 years he'd still be in high school. What kind of expectations would you have for a high school senior on this team?
