What's new

Reputation Comments, positive and negative

I have actually complained more than once about the way some couples behave at disneyland. Once was someone my 12 year old pointed out was in a tiny mini-skirt and not wearing panties and her boyfriend kept putting his hand up her skirt and she would giggle loudly (he saw this on the stairs waiting to get on the train, then once on the train he saw the guy with his hand under her skirt). I don't care if it is a gay couple or a straight couple we should not be subjected to that kind of **** in Disneyland or any other public or semi-public location.

Ahh, young love. Isn't it beautiful?

Your post is about a specific couple behaving in appropriately and you're not extrapolating about the entire behavior of heterosexuals at Disneyland. Nor are you describing heterosexuals as spreading out all over Disneyland "en masse."

No, you misunderstood completely. When a straight couple engages in inappropriate behavior, they only represent themselves acting badly, not all straight couples. When a gay couple acts badly, they represent all gay couples. I don't see how you could possibly think that was prejudiced in any fashion.

I see what you're saying, but don't you think having a specific day for a certain sexuality might encourage more inappropriate public display of affection? Just like if you had a Straight Sexuality Day it may do the same because SEXUALITY is on everyone's mind?

I know, right?

According to my son's 15 year old friend, the girl was "pretty hot". I spent the rest of the day trying to find that chick, preferably above me on a staircase.

You want to know one thing that really pisses me off about this whole reputation business? It's when I want to give rep to a post, but I can't because I get the message that I need to spread it around first -- and then I get the message that I've given out too much over the past 24 hours.

And by the time I finally get those two impediments out of the way, I either can't remember or can't find the posts that I wanted to rep in the first place.

Anyone else ever have that problem? Does it piss you off too?

Well, I'm back in town for a few hours. . . . all I care about in this forum is the whole rep issue. It's so. . . . . . undeniably. . . . . .personal.

Other forums have rules against personal attacks; this forum institutionalizes them. Well, as long as you don't cross certain ambiguous "lines". While it's OK to say "please die", sometimes. . . . well, depending. . . . . uhhhhhhmmmmmm. . . . . on the moderators' current moods or . . . . . uuuuhhhhhhhmmmmmmm. . . . . . wishes, you could still get an FBI case file all your own just the same.

wait. . . . . somebody just reminded me that if what you say is appropriately "close" to the truth, some people will laugh and think you said something funny, but it's never funny to hit the truth head on dead-center. Oh well.

Probably the FBI is understaffed to deal with this issue anyway, and I'd rather cut their budget than pay for that kind of activity. Just like our unpaid mods really don't need trouble from us.

So, anyway, this forum is better than others I've explored in one or more important ways. Rep may be one of the reasons we don't have the problems others have. And for what it's worth, this forum is remarkably tolerant of different opinions and if you can state yours well and include some sort of link to supporting information it rises to the level even of being informative.

Neat trick for a sports forum.

I think the reason why that setting is in there, is so two posters don't collude and just rep each other back and forth.
What difference would that make? You'd just knock them down a couple points anyway.

Zing!!!!

I smell a coup d'état. I ask you this Jazzfanz: If not now, when? If not here, where? 20 years from now, do you want to look back and say you did nothing?

Viva la Revolución!

Anyone else a little creeped out by this?

Why? My son was 12, his friend was 15 and his brother was 17 and they all said she looked older than 25, and was smoking (both literally and figuratively).

Was your little perverted mind thinking about pre-teens again? You really need to get some help for that.
