What's new

RIP George Steinbrenner

Wake the **** up Archie. Seriously.

Kiss my ***, seriously. Dude, you haven't even explained your ****. All you've done is post a no name and and expect everyone should know and it's common knowledge. Plus, how can anyone from MLB be the most influential and important sports person in America over the past 35 years? Hasn't baseball taken backseat in American sports, like 30 years ago?

I feel like Patrick Bateman trying to talk to the dry cleaning woman.

Dude, seriously, read up on Marvin Miller some and then come talk to me. Otherwise, you just look like more of an idiot than you already do. If that's at all possible.

I read his wiki page. Awesome guy. But again, I don't think unknown former executive director of the Major League Baseball Players Association and HOF isn't the most important or influential person in American sports over the past 35 years. That makes you looks foolish to even suggest that, imo.

Forget it. All hope is lost.

True, a guy who only was a major catalyst in monumentally changing not only baseball, but all major professional sports as we know it wasn't very influential.

Maybe not a "household" name, but Miller did as much to change the sports landscape as anyone. Read up on the reserve clause and his challenge of it and then think about how different sports is today. It's because of Marvin Miller. LeBron James going to Miami? Marvin Miller had his fingers in that. Reggie White going to Green Bay? Marvin Miller influenced that. Important and influential don't always mean "famous".
