There hasn't been a need for big spending in free agency with the young rebuilding team, otherwise u have a Corbin situation with vets stealing all of the development mins from the young guys. If that were the case half the board would still have it in for Lyles. It is however getting to that point to bring in a vet or two. I just don't know how much room there is in the roster to bring in free agents barring any trades happening.
I think DL is doing it right. I'm not sure there has ever been a good rebuild where the rebuild was sped up by spending a ton of money. We've had one of the weaker benches the last few years, but next year it looks to be a strength with Lyles Mack and Burks in the second unit, plus one of favors and Gobert usually seem to be in at all times. And this is all from being patient letting guys develop and building through the draft with a lucky trade.
Great post. Fans cried when Utah used stop gaps in route to an 8 seed a few years back and now they're crying because Lindsay is playing the long game, forcing our young talent to actually play, and not bringing in Vets that will steal their minutes away. Just so we can see 1 quick round of playoff basketball? They are getting to the point where it's time to strategically add a vet or two to take the next step but this rebuild has been done correctly thus far.
