Roster Addition Wish List

Lopo, sometimes you try to read tea leaves when there simply aren't leaves to be read. That's the point re: Fultz and your stretch to apply the linked comments to his trade status. If you try to source your speculation with something that doesn't fit, people are going to call you for it.

Of all the stuff throughout the pages of this forum, I don't know why I get singled out for this. Maybe because I stand up to Cy and his numerous accounts?

But seriously, I took Philly articles that said they might dump Fultz's salary for summer pursuits. I simply said: I wonder if they would be interested in Burks.

What the hell is the deal with that? For **** sake, most guys don't even post and link and just talk out of their ***.

A forum is supposed to be like a barbershop but faceless little keyboard warrior pricks ruin the fun. I never said Fultz was on the trade block. I was just making conversation.

Dude. Literally everyone gets disagreed with or has mean things said to them on here from time to time, you just get super defensive about it and it exacerbates the situation. And Cy is in your head like he's Joe Ingles in peak playoff form.

When you start posting like three comments in a row defending yourself to every critique, flush with accusations of the opposing poster being Cy, Cy's mom, Cy's fanboy, etc, or a "little man" (wtf on this one, really?), you kind of put a big 'kick me' sign on your back.

I’d take Korver while moving Joe to the PG in any Korver lineup.

What would it realistically take to get Otto Porter? Washington is well into the luxury tax category this year and it's hard to pay that if you aren't even going to make the playoffs. I have to think Porter is expendable. They're basically out of cap space for next year too. Signing Porter would mean the Jazz don't have cap space next year though. You would be foregoing a chance at Middleton, Harris, Mirotic, etc. by guaranteeing you sign Porter.

I don't think Porter's market value is very high because he's played so poorly and is owed $56 million over the next two years after this year. (2nd year is a player option he'll surely take). I don't think it's to the point they'd have to compensate someone to take him to get expiring deals back, but it may be getting close if they keep up this poor play.

Would the Jazz even do a trade? Which of the least of these combos gets it done?
Derrick Favors, Alec Burks
Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, Tony Bradley
Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, Grayson Allen
Derrick Favors, Alec Burks, 2019 1st round draft pick
Derrick Favors, Thabo Sefolosha, 2019 1st round draft pick
Alec Burks, Thabo Sefolosha, Tony Bradley

Or something else?

Porter is an interesting situation. Good player on a great player contract = bad value. For a team who thinks they can lure a free agent, he's a bad addition because his bad value. For a team that needs a good player but might not be a free agent destination, he might worth it.

Since we aren't guaranteed to get a free agent, Porter would be a fantastic addition.

I would probably hope to trade Burks, Thabo, Udoh, Bradley and some sort of draft considerations for Porter. We might have to send Favors, but we would be so incredibly strong for a playoff run if we could get Porter without having to send out Favors.

Interesting read. According to the report:

Houston offered Gordon, Nene and 2 1sts for Butler

NO offered Mirotic and an unprotected 1st. They wouldn't offer Jrue.

Washington would not trade Beal.

It's funny... Minnesota gets offered some decent returns from Miami, gets offered 4 firsts from Houston, gets offered the above stuff, and they settle for Saric and Covington?

ETA: Did Houston never offer 4 firsts?

I don't think Houston offered 4 firsts AND Gordon. Miami, as stated in the article, pulled Richardson off the table due to his fast start to the season.

Considering Minnesota's already young team, I think it was smart to take proven players instead of low 1st rounders.
