Roster Building From Here - FA and Summer of 2023

Fred VanVleet with a 20 pt 20 ast game tonight. Danny loves undersized combo guards who play with passion™ and aren't necessarily efficient (Isaiah and Terry Rozier) so I could see us trying to throw the bag at him

I am not an expert on Troy Brown but based on the prospect he was coming into the league and how much he’s grown as a shooter, I think he could be worth kicking the tires on. Will only be 24 next year and it feels to me like he might have another level to him as he’s had some big games this year but has also faded some in the presence of the Lakers’ tumult.

I’m particularly interested in his ability to connect an offense since that was one of his most intriguing attributes coming into the league.

I still wouldn't want Dame right now, not unless we could restructure his contract for less of a cap hit or something, idk. He is going to take way too much of the cap right when we need to be loading up. Look how the Blazers have loaded up around him, on paper that should be a top 4 team in the west easily, yet they are looking at the play-in yet again. Not sure how he helps as he starts to be a declining asset taking up an ungodly amount of the cap right when we need to be peaking in 2-3 years. So unless he agrees to end his contract and sign for less then no way.

It's very true Dame's contract is not cheap and that's a problem for some teams.
There are cheaper and younger PG's like Killian Hayes, Lamelo Ball etc for sure who might be available if the trade offer is legit and serious.

I'm always impressed with Wendell Carter Jr whenever I watch him. I'm not sure how we would swing that, but I'd love to have them on the Jazz.

I dont think he has that anymore. think he's a pretty meat and potatoes 3&D player who is passable enough at both to survive.

Well ya see, the problem with Killian Hayes is that he’s not good.
Only what i know of Hayes is that he was part of fight vs Magic earlier this season and got suspended on it.
But what reasons are making Hayes ''not that good'' is he total a-hole in locker-room or something else negative.

And how about Lamelo Ball?
Hornets aren't going anywhere with their team and rumors are telling Jordan is ready to sell Hornets.
Lamelo is still playing meanwhile his older brother ( Lonzo ) is close to get medically retired due to chronic knee injury / problems.
But if younger Ball finds himself into Utah Jazz then Lavar Ball and his clown circus will be there too.

Lavar Ball is probably biggest and most arrogant clown what i know in this planet.
I still remembering Lavar's interview from 2017 NBA draft when he was hyping Lonzo and look where Lonzo is now.

Who else young / experienced / veteran PG's could be good trade targets for Jazz if Lillard and Doncic won't be available and Ainge doesn't have interest to get Lamelo Ball.
Only names who came my mind are SGA and Tyrese Haliburton but both won't be available at all.

THT/Dunn
Ochai/Sexton
Lauri/Simone
Olynyk/Gay/Samanic
Walker/Jones

That seems like our roster for next year as far as players under contract.

11 players. 3 draft picks. That only let's us sign one player in free agency, which I'm assuming the Jazz want to be Clarkson. The Jazz might not be as aggressive in free agency as I thought.

I think THT showed enough late in the season that some team might consider trading for him since the 23/24 season is his last on contract too.

THT/Gay/Jones all have player options and KO/Dunn are non-guaranteed or partial guaranteed. If we need to make some roster spots we can.
