Roster Building From Here - FA and Summer of 2023

Brooklyn should embrace a complete rebuild and sell off their pieces this off season. We should be in position to be one of the higher bidders.

Sell off who? Why would they sell anyone? Not like they have their own draft picks to tank for.
Good point, I was forgetting that. I just think they are in a little bit of no man's land with some good, but not great pieces. I guess mostly I was hoping they would put Mikal on the market.

It was always genius. I laughed when they reported they were looking for a first for him. Joke was on me when they found one.
Royce has been good for Brooklyn this year, especially back when they had KD and Kyrie and were looking like a playoff contender. We ended up with pick 28 out of the deal, which has a good chance of not even being a rotation quality NBA player.

I think the deal was good for both teams. I'm not sure why people keep acting like it was the craziest/most genius/most surprising trade in the history of the NBA.

Well, for one Royce is terrible. For two, look at the trade deadline where nobody was giving up firsts. Guys like Eric Gordon and Luke Kennard went for second round picks. Zero shot Royce goes for a first at the trade deadline this year.

How many seconds do you think we can get for pick 28?

DFS should be available this summer and the price should be lower than it would have been at the deadline. We will see how the draft goes but I can see the Jazz revisiting that scenario

It was crazy because guys who hold a lot more value than Royce weren’t going for first round picks. Guys like Jerami Grant we’re going for picks like that. If you’re looking at comps, that deal is an outlier, regardless of how much people want to play up Royce as “criminally underrated.”

Well we couldn't get a first for conley. Or bogey. Or clarkson. So I think people find it strange that we could get one for Royce as most people think he is the worst player of the 4.
