For the people saying the Jazz are cheap...this deal doesn't happen if they don't have cap space. Sure sometimes it ends up being unused and wasted, other times (like this) it lets you execute a coup.

JazzAvenues - There is some gold worthy of a JA thread here.

Anyone not sure about how they feel should do some reading on the Minny board. It will cheer you up.

POTY right ****ing here. I'm sold. Buh bye Hill.

And fwiw, Rubio is a better defender, better passer, has a better A:T ratio, is a better rebounder, gets far more steals, is a better free throw shooter, gets to the line more, is four years younger than Hill, and costs approximately 5M or so less than what we expected Hill to get.

Does he suck at finishing and three point shooting? Sure. But with great coaching, based on his 89% from the line last year, I definitely think he can improve ala Kidd.

I was told tonight that a lot of the trade for Rubio is because Hayward was very upset with Hill missing so many games last year and the Jazz wanted to show Hayward that they have a backup plan in case Hill goes down again this next year.

#1 sign Hayward.
#2 sign Hill up to a certain number.

Rubio was 100% to make Hayward happy. Hill is still an option at the right price. Now, Exum, Favors, and Hood could all be traded IF Hayward resigns.

Told by whom?

Also, Rubio misses more games than Hill.

Whatever Hayward wants more if we get to that point.

I mean, we'd still have Hood and Mitchell and Exum and Hill and even Hayward to play the 2.
And Hayward and Hood and Johnson can all play the 3.

I love Ingles and would miss him but I can't help but wonder if it was a lightning in a bottle contract year for him last season.

Great value considering age, contract, potential + lottery protection on OKC pick. Don't like the fit, tho replacing Favors with a stretch 4 would help. As long as this doesn't affect Hayward's decision, which I don't think it will, I don't see how this could be a bad move.

How I'd like us to proceed.

Re-sign Hayward.
Re-sign Ingles or Hill.
See if Boris has made any attempt to get into shape. If he has, put a ton more effort into getting him into the best shape of his life over the next four months, lose more weight, and keep him.
Sign Muscala to a partial MLE.
Pray Exum has developed like Lindsey said.
Pray Bolomboy has developed.
Get the 2 seed as a big **** you to all these sellouts.

You think simply adding rubio for, let's say mack, is a not an improvement? Tough crowd.
It's Rubio for Hill. Mack was gone either way, but with this trade there's no way the Jazz bring back Hill. That would be far too much money locked up in the PG position
