Thanks Tyrone, you &^%$#@@!That's perfect if there's not another team that views Burks that highly because then including a different player shouldn't be a big deal. Burks is simply the closest thing to a keeper on this team and the Jazz have other interesting pieces and cap space to absorb bad salary. I'd hate to give up a guy that might by himself be better than whoever the Jazz end up getting (because there are still no sure-things in this draft). Also, I said include him in a PACKAGE for that theoretical additional top-10 pick.
But then again, I'm not totally sold on Burks either. But right now, he is clearly the most impactful player on this team.
Thanks Tyrone, you &^%$#@@!
Burks SHOULD have been a starter. He would then have >>>>>>>>>>> value. Instead Ty helped RJ likely get another deal with some other team. You were a damn fine humanitarian, Corbin. Probably because you were a journeyman yourself.
Here's where I don't blame Ty I blame the front office. Ty was trying to save his job not develop talent. The FO should have had a clear plan of what they were trying to do with the season and had everybody on board from ownership to GM to coaches to players to fans.
Yep. And the only way DL could have interceded would have been to tell Ty he had job security IF he benched RJ and Marvin and started the "core5." With the Millers having their hands in the pot, the ONLY way Lindsey was going to be able to get rid of Ty was to have him hang himself with his own rope. And Ty did that. Lindsey could then step back and tell Greg and Gail that Ty had complete freedom and led Utah to the worst defensive rating while underachieving on the development side.Lindsey unequivocally said, before the season started, that Ty would not be evaluated based on wins and losses. He said he would be evaluated based on player development and defensive improvement.
Seems a fairly clear plan to me. Even the casual fan took that to mean "dude, either develop the young guys and improve the defense or you are a goner and we will go get Quin to clean up your mess"
I don't think there is a single team out there who views burks as highly as you must. He is viewed as a competent backup with a ceiling of jamaal Crawford if he is lucky. Probably not worth a top ten pick, and certainly not with the jazz missing out on being in the top three.
