Russell Westbrook 2.0 at 23? (Zach LaVine)

Brent Barry.

LaVine wasn't even a top 5 player on his college team, I'm not going to say he has super star potential, because he doesn't.

He also didn't have a role to prove his worth.

Hate to keep mentioning Westbrook, but he only averaged 3.4 pts his first year at UCLA. College game isn't the greatest for projecting NBA players, and you should know this. They are two different beasts.

The coach's son played ahead of him, as did Kyle Anderson (who's slow style wasn't an issue w/ the 35 second shot clock).

Lavine did play 24 mins a game though.

Check his per 40 compared to Russell Westrbook's @ UCLA

College game rarely favors the athletic like Lavine and Westbrook, because the spacing is messed up w/ the shorter 3pt line, and the game is a lot slower and played in the hallfcourt more w/ the 35 second shot clock.

College was perfect for Trey's game.

The coaches son didn't play ahead of Lavine. They both came off the bench, and almost always played in the backcourt together.

Also LaVine being 6'4½ in socks is legit height for a SG, hes also got well above average quickness for a SG and hes grown about 3" in the past 2 years, there's no reason he cant continue to grow some.

Im convinced hes got all-star potential, hes got the ability to get his shot off really quickly and if he can consistently hit 3's at a high rate, its going to be pretty spectacular.

He was a guard w/ much less potential, who ate into the minutes and role available. Lavine should've been smarter and thought about that before committing there.

I never said the kid was bright... Just that he has superstar potential.

The pendulum swings far with this one, which is why he is being discussed as late lottery and not top 5.

His fluidity and size remind me of Curry. It's not really a fair comparison for LaVine, but it's the only one I can come up with. I think that he can be a great combo guard - start at one spot and back up the other. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way he makes it out of the lottery. He might end up going top 10 depending on who he works out with and how they go.

LaVine's OOC stats vs. LaVine's PAC-12 stats. LOL. Superstar potential vs. inferior competition.

I have very little interest in LaVine

I'm interested, but not willing to sell anything of value to get him. If he drops to 23, great, if not, oh well.

And the game were Anderson and Adams sat out, Bryce Alford heavily out-performed LaVine, but that was only because he is the coach's son, right?
