Salt Lake City Summer League, July 8-10

An interesting guy that I'm sure is destined to the Stars is Armando Bacot. Kessler couldn't beat him out at UNC and transferred to Auburn. Seems like a solid college player and was a McDonald's All American. If Kessler doesn't light it up, I wonder if he is trade material.

Jazz play Memphis on opening night, July 8. That should be interesting if Edey and GG Jackson are playing.

He's under contract for one more year overseas. He did hang out with the Pistons during summer league last year, but could not play.

Not sure what his buyout is, but unless the Jazz buy him out I don't see him playing. If they want him, they should sign him no later than next year before he signs another multi-year contract.

Omg I really hope Kessler plays against Edey. That would be a very interesting matchup

No, but I’d like for him to be there. It’s not unheard of for Euro players who are stashed to show up for summer league - even if they’re not coming over right away. Neto did it in 2013.

They should do the buyout and sign him now. What else are they going to use their cap space and roster spots on? 4 year deal with a team option on the last one. Then if he’s healthy and breaks out they still have his RFA rights to keep him longer.

Didn't Procida have a bad injury to end his season?

He had surgery to fix some issue with his patella tendon. For some reason I thought he had already recovered from that, but the surgery was in April and he was given a 3-4 month recovery timeline.

I still think they should just sign him now, bring him over and manage his medical and training here.

has zanik or any other jazz FO mentioned anything about who will be playing in the last two days? I know what they said several weeks ago, i'm mostly curious where they are at now, whether there are any nagging injuries that may keep people out, etc. i have to think keyonte plays at least 2 or 3 games, and i'm thinking there is no chance kessler will play. just hope draft picks are healthy are ready to go.
