I don’t want to get involved in it either. The great Sunni/Shia war does not need American involvement.

I don't believe we know what US intelligence analysts are saying here, only what Pompeo is saying.

However, Pompeo's claims do contradict the claims of the people taking credit for the attack. While it's true these people are being backed by Iran, they are not Iran.

So, in other news.....

I heard Condolezza Rice saying she supports Trump on Afghanistan negotions, saying he's doing the right thing there.

I heard George Soros defending Trump on the China Trade negotiations, saying we all need to stand with him on bringing China to account.

I heard Mark Levin literally curse Lyndon LaRouche. Now this point might need some background. I have met Lyndon LaRouche, first in around 1970, and followed his little band of socialist gadflies, who have recently been well-received in China and Russia with their grand infrastructure proposals, which the Chinese are calling "The Belt and Road Initiate", which will create a China-centered world trade system, a land route for trade on magLev fast trains uniting the Eurasian economies. LaRouche is anti-Brit, to say the least. I mean The City of London is the heart of the evil beast in LaRouche world politics. The Queen of England, or some say, the British have started two world wars to prevent land based economic cooperation across Europe already. Until now, the LaRouchies have touted Trump as the last best hope to do the Queen in for good. I mean, he's sooooooo much the outsider in the AmBrit world. Mark Levin is nothing if he's not a defender of Israel and the AmBrit Empire. He's just not a stupid man. Which I mean to say, is not a deep left socialist. He calls commies "commies".

But what do I know about international intrigue?? The Chinese and the Russians loved Hillary and paid their dues to her, and she was a Rockefeller asset.

And, finally, the Saudi's officially disowned Osama bin Laden's son, and Trump's seals took him out a few months ago, and the terrorist Pakistani allies of the Taliban are now going to be our only targets in Afghanistan while we hope the Taliban and the Afghan puppet government unite in the gripping fear of isolation with no recourse but submit to the Chinese, who are already torturingt and esecuting religious minority muslims in China....

I'd need to chech out my Iranian contacts round town to get better information, probably, but war with Iran is not going to be helpful. The Chinese and Russians are helping the dysfunctional Iranian hierarchy just like they help out in Venezuela.

I did a post a week or so ago about Trump getting the Rockefeller nod, and the reason being China.

I have for decades been seeing the next great war as the Middle East, a sort of demolition of Islam while smiling and feigning partiality for the swarthy swordsmen of the sands. Zbigniiew Brezinski used to expansively long for some chance to ring that bell. This might be it.

I'm standing with Rand Paul on this one.
 
You’d think that staying out of war would be something that both trumpers and Democrats could agree on. There’s a lot of isolationists on both sides of the political aisle who don’t see American intervention in that region as being a positive thing. Guess we’ll see.
 
Fortunately, because we have worked our way to oil independence, the consequences of all of this is far less severe domestically than it could have been.
 
I’m not exactly a neocon who wants us to be the world’s policeman but one of my favorite conservatives to follow has some interesting thoughts:

We are actually still very dependent on oil. I wish we werent though.
