SBNation - Kevin Durant's injury shows why other NBA contenders should never give up

No, Jerry Sloan quit on the team and then Dwill got traded. He never "took his happy hips somewhere else". It was nothing like Durant. Durant hated OKC and he left. Dwill still lives in Utah.

Thank you, I stand corrected! I thought Sloan gave management an ultimatum; who's it going to be--Williams or me.

...by the way, Durant didn't hate OKC. He was there for us during times of disaster ($1 million donation for Moore tornado); that meant more to me than winning an NBA championship. What people need to learn in life--it's not all about YOU!

Don't get me wrong; would love for the Thunder to win an NBA championship. There are more important things in my life than sports.

Sloan quit largely because KOC and Greg wouldn't let him do his job and discipline a malcontent. I'm tired of the revisionist ********, but considering the source I'm not surprised.

He quit because he is a quitter

Yes, the longest tenured coach in professional sports at the time quit because that's just how he rolled...

The guy was tired. He has said for a long time that one day he might just decide that he was done. That day came and he stopped being the coach after 24 years and over 1000 wins with one team.

What is your problem?

My problem is the double standard of outrage towards Dwill/Sloan. Most racist **** ever.

Call a spade a spade. The dude quit. That makes him a quitter. Doesn't mean I don't appreciate what he did.

The old man who probably already started suffering from Parkinson's and dementia? You're calling him a quitter? After 24 years with the Utah Jazz? If you're trying to get a jazz fan riled up you did it. You're being a low class scum bag. Congratulations.

I don't have any ill will towards Deron. I'm not blaming Sloan stepping down on Deron. I'm blaming Sloan stepping down on a senior citizen with Parkinson's and dementia throwing in the towel way after you or I would have.

Jerry Sloan was like wrought iron. He was not a quitter.

As a little joke, to illustrate the point here...

"You see that dock out there? Built it myself, hand crafted each piece, and it's the best dock in town! But do they call me "McGregor the dock builder"? No! And you see that bridge over there? I built that, took me two months, through rain, sleet and scoarching weather, but do they call me "McGregor the bridge builder"? No! And you see that pier over there, I built that, best pier in the county! But do they call me "McGregor the pier builder"? No!"
The old guy looks around, and makes sure that nobody is listening, and leans to the man, and he says:
"but you **** one sheep...

You're a ****ing clown. DWill was a pouty little bitch with whom Sloan grew tired. He was the same way in NJ and every single fan couldn't stand him there. Get a ****ing clue and save the race card for something that matters and where race actually has something to do with the issue.

Lol @ Cy in this thread. Racist? They're both white. Is it racist because Williams is half black? You honestly think race has anything to do with this? You're a clown dude and I'm surprised you stopped down to this level. You've been doing better lately but just regressed badly. Cut the contrarian act its overplayed and overused.
