Scoring Droughts

I don't miss Kanter on offense at all, yes it's nice to have another guy we can throw the ball to who can create some offense for himself, but I'll take the better overall movement of the offense that we currently see. Besides Hayward and Favors all these guys are still learning how to play with each other.

We might have droughts but some of that will be resolved when burks comes back- Hood is playing great lately and Hayward has been huge this year.
As a team we don't miss Kanter, his scoring load has been picked up by others including Gobert, Favors and Hood.

Just think about this, I would say our offense has been pretty rough since the Kanter trade and we've still gone what 13-4 (can't remember the exact record). Just think if we can improve to a medium tier offense with our defense. We'll win 50 games easily next year.

You know what else isn't useful conversation? Having opinions that are completely unfounded, and then repeatedly bringing them up over and over at every opportunity. Like the OP does with Hayward. And like you do with defensive rating statistics for individual players in order to try to prove that Kanter is anything besides completely abysmal on that end.

It reminds me of another forum where somebody kept trying to argue that shooting 40% from 2 is better than shooting 33% from 3. If an opinion is factually incorrect, it deserves to be disregarded.

I bring defensive rating over and over? The only time recently I brought it up was when Zach Lowe was using dRTG against Kanter. You need to read more carefully before you type or you going to continue being wrong. You also neg rep anyone who disagrees with you even slightly while insulting them.

You did it constantly up to the point where all the Kanter talk was moved to the General Sports board (thank God). After that I stopped paying attention until yesterday, when I saw you doing it yet again. I was nice to you the first several times and explained why it was a very noisy and useless stat, and yet you continued to use it and draw conclusions from it. That's why you got neg repped.

You also neg rep anyone who disagrees with you even slightly while insulting them.

I don't neg rep people for disagreeing with me. I neg rep people for having factually incorrect or unfounded arguments.

Pot, meet kettle.

I neg rep people who bring factually incorrect information into a debate. I have little tolerance for it.

Of course any disagreement with your superior intellect is wrong. Instead of cherishing different opinions to have some sort of debate, you would rather promote circle jerking your same opinion so you feel more confident about it.

Since it apparently went straight over your head before, let's try this again. Read carefully this time:

I find it humorous that when someone like Rudy, Kanter, Burks, and Burke's have poor games this board is all over them. Yet, Hayward and for the most part Favors are untouchable. You are considered trolling the board if you aren't infatuated with them. Then one day they will realize that Hayward is not as good as they continually project him to be they will be the first ones off the boat. Happened with Boozer. It happened with Dwill. It will happen with Hayward.

Yes, on offense we miss Kanter. In terms of wins we don't miss him at all. I mean AT ALL!!

Wins trumps personal stats.

Next thread.

Yep. There is no doubt we miss Kanter on offense. But less so now that Hood is starting. Before that we had Hayward as our lone shooter. Teams could completely ignore Exum and Ingles/Millsap and concentrate on shutting down Hayward on the perimeter and Favors inside. To take the next step, Jazz need to have a "Making" guard and a PG who can consistently hit shots from the outside. That will determine how good Utah becomes next season.

The bottom line is The Jazz needed help offensively before Kanter was traded and they need help now. Burks will help when he returns but if the goal is 50 wins next season they'll need more.

Most of us DO complain when any of those guys has a bad game. The game threads often say "Hayward is playing like ****," "What has happened to Rudy," etc. With Boozer it was his questionable injuries and recovery time, his lack of defense and attitude. We all loved DWill; the only concern was his non-committal to staying (i.e. lack of ANY encouraging statement in that respect) and then the disclosure he was not running plays that were called.

And where have you been the last two seasons? The dislike/hatred for Trey is rampant.

Surprised no one has posted the relevant stats:

The Jazz have scored 105.1 points per 100 possessions with Gordo on court, best among Jazz rotation players.
The Jazz have scored 95.5 points per 100 possessions with Gordo off court, worst among all Jazz players.

Any data to support your assertion that Gordo is on court for lots of droughts?
