Shaq

Shaq started his career at Tulsa just as Clarkson left Tulsa to transfer to Missouri. Wonder if there's any story in there (such as if Clarkson might have been aware of/involved in the recruitment of Shaq)?

From Tulsa Coach Frank Haith as Shaq was graduating:

"For Shaquille, his skill level has just gotten better every year, and professional organizations saw that. He reminds me of another Tulsa guy and a player for us at Missouri, Jordan Clarkson. Like Jordan, Shaq was able to showcase his athleticism in our system. His willingness to work and revamp his shot, along with his improvement as as a pure point guard will make him a tremendous professional prospect. That, along with his insatiable appetite to compete makes him someone teams will want in their organization."

I don’t know about recruitment, but I know Clarkson follows him on the twitters.

Joe Ingles was very available. For a number of years, Exum was the most untouchable guy in the league.
Why do we care about this stuff... if a smoking hot girl wants to be your girlfriend you don’t ask if she’s so hot why didn’t some guy already snap her up.
Everyone is like everyone else, always looking around for approval before making a move, or being embarrassed, thinking "I think she's cute, but maybe other people don't and they'll laugh at me." Too often we're very content to wait for the 'cool' guy to make a move for us to agree, 'yep, she's hot... I knew it. I could probably never land someone like that.'
I’d buy a house but every time I’m in one I’m like... if this house so good why is it still on sale.

Also:
If everyone is jonesing to sign him, he's not coming here, not coming for the minimum, and not likely to be especially grateful for the opportunity. This is a blessing, and for a fanbase of a team that features TWO undrafted players that the Jazz dug out of nothing, we should be the first to acknowledge that teams miss all the time and appreciate that they do.

"I would never want to be part of a club that would have me for a member."

"If they're that good, why would they be interested in us?"

This was the type of stuff that drove me nuts about the KOC era. Not nearly as bad under DL because I think if he locked in on a guy, he wouldn't be afraid to go after him, but man, KOC's strategy was hitting the buffet line right after it opened, and when everyone was in line waiting for prime rib, he was loading up as many plates of macaroni and cheese as he could while everyone else fought over the good stuff.

By the way:
-the Suns gave up on him because he couldn’t shoot and they had no shortage of young guys to develop and check out
-The Bulls gave up on him because they’re a bad organization.

It shouldn’t necessarily be damning for the player when dog **** organizations don’t recognize what they have.

The Jazz gave up on Korver over 3 mill
