What's new

Shelvin Mack

Yeah cuz it takes so much balls to start your 5th overall draft pick. Completely different set of circumstances.

BS 5th overall draft pick who had no college or real team basketball experience and shown mixed results to that point, replacing former college player of the year with a big reputation.

I think he'd have far more justification to sit one of the two now.

I didn't realize that Neto was drafted 5th overall.

Burke was coming into the season as the bench "sparkplug" PG w/ Exum healthy or not, so it really wasnt that big of a status quo change to make Neto the starter. Completely removing Burke from the lineup for a guy you got for a future 2nd round pick would be pretty ballsy though.

Any word on who will start against the Rockets? I'm really hoping they shuffle some things around and give Mack the start and Neto the backup minutes. Let's see what he looks like with Gobert, Favors, Hayward and Hood out there with him.

Oh, and please, please, please more Withey/Lyles and less Booker.

He really should start. No offense to Neto but Neto has been a dumb turnover machine lately.

Does Quin have the balls to flat out bench Neto or Burke though?

Snyder is at leas thinking about it. It is still extremely early but did DL just pull off another coup?

I like Mack and how he controlled the offense. However, he is a very poor outside shooter. If teams back off him and guard the drive, he won't look as good.

I will say this for him. He started his career behind two allstar pg's in Wall and Teague, and don't think he's had a consistent role with consistent minutes. That being said, and while I don't believe he's a good outside shooter, still, he may not be as bad as the numbers indicate. Hopefully with consistent minutes his shooting can improve, but who knows.

It will be interesting to see how pg mins are allocated. I hope Snyder isn't planning on giving three pg's consistent minutes.

He did shoot 40% from 3 his sophomore year. Now I am not saying that he will be averaging 40% while in Utah but the high 30s may not be unrealistic.

On 35 attempts. Come on. His career 3pt is under 32%. I'll take that if he can do other things well.

If you saw him warm up during the Portland game, you might be singing a different tune. It was pretty bad.
