Should BOLOMBOY get in the game?

Is BOLOMBOY our only hope to stop D.J.?

When you don't involve some players during the regular season then it is difficult to throw them into the mix in the playoffs.

I think Bolomboy should have gotten more consideration during the regular season.

I dont see Favors as being "hobbled". I dont think he is 100% of what he is at his peak, but I think it's more just playing out of position in a role he has never been great at against a type of player he has never been great against.

If Favors is 100% we are in trouble. He doesnt have the lift or explosion and was eaten alive in game 2.

He certainly had some lift and explosion. He had 3 and 1's around the rim over and around DeAndre Jordan. It's not like he was a statue. I think our tune would be much different regarding the health of his knee if we saw him playing his natural position as his defensive decisions would be easier w/ less pressure. Guarding Chris Paul and protecting the paint is just too much for Favors since he has no weakside help with Boris/Johnson as his cover. We treat the issue as it's just some factor of athleticism lacking that is preventing Favors from stopping these combination, but it goes beyond that. The timing and positioning of guarding them is much more difficult for a player who isnt use to being put in that situation as a center. We guarded it well Game 1 and they adjusted and had a good game 2 first quarter. Then we adjusted and played them even for 3 quarters. Im sure we will adjust again. No reason to overreact.

Its not just me the national commentators have said it. The local media has said it. He clearly is lacking lift and explosion.
He can still dunk and had a gutsy game 1 performance. I just dont think hes 100% and he looks weak to me, especially in Game 2.

With the injury plagued year hes had I dont see how its a stretch to call him hobbled.

No one has called him 100% or said he has complete explosiveness/lift. It's better than it's been all season though. The biggest issue is him playing out of position against a player who outmatches him in size and athleticism w/ a PG who can exploit any error in defensive positioning.

He certainly showed some explosive/quick dives to the rim that allowed him to complete 3 and 1's against a very good defensive center.

We are getting murdered in the paint. Withey in spot minutes isn't getting it done. If Rudy comes back, we should be okay with him and Favors getting most of the burn. But if he doesn't, why not give Joel a quick spell?

I think an answer before Bolomboy would be playing Favors/Withey together and see how that works.

I still think we should play another wing. Wing depth is a strength of the Jazz and LAC only have one good wing defender. Put Hayward on BG. Switch more on screens. Hill is playing catchup with CP3 too often.

I'd want to test two big lineup more. See if that size can do anything and put Favors in weakside help position roles instead of paint protection. It might lure Griffin into shooting more midrange shots, which could be a win for Utah.
