Should Cody spend time in the G LEAGUE

Should Cody Williams get sent down to the Stars for a stint?

He has been awful, worse than I could imagine. I think it is a good thing for him to get some confidence and to work on his game. It hurts the tank because he was playing so badly.

He's not nearly physically gifted enough to get away with being a non-shooter. He's got to get to 38-40% from three on high volume to have a chance to be a quality starter.

I don't think he should really shoot more in the G-League as I think he needs to change his entire form first though... His form is extremely bad.
You dont become a better shooter by just shooting a lot of 3's in game. You get better in the off-season.

No he did. He looks off Cody and gives the ball back to Collin even if Collin is running sideways 40 feet from the hoop. Clarkson doesn't want to pass him the ball either, which is a bit rich considering the **** that Clarkson jacks up.
Everyone looks COdy off because they know Cody is going to waste 5 seconds of the clock and give someone a grenade...

We're all talking about him needing to be a better shooter just to survive in the league, but there really wasn't much indication he was ever a good shooter at Colorado. Extremely low volume, low FT%, and slow release. His slashing and finishing at the basket was good and maybe we'll see that in the G-League. Maybe drafting a guy who is unprecedented levels of skinny + low motor and is only good inside the paint was a bad idea.

He just needs to play harder in general. I'd be more of a believer in him if his motor wasn't so low. It affects all aspects of his game, not just scoring and shooting.

I am not even joking when I say that Cody’s best use this season is to better secure losses. I think the G-League will probably be good for him, but I honestly feel like I’ve seen enough to know that his ceiling is that of a role player and the trade off of getting a worse pick for the honor of investing in developing a role player is a loss. You can go find role players in free agency, the G-League, and the later parts of the draft.

We need more Cody on an NBA floor getting moved like he’s not there, dribbling off his feet, and clanking open shots.
As disgusting as that sounds, I actually agree. While I think Juzang may end up being a really good role player and thus he is worth developing... fact is compared to Cody he raises our floor a lot. We should not want to raise the floor this very season.

If Johnny now suddenly gets 25 mpg and goes ballistic from 3 turning into Walmart-Buddy Hield and then 2 months from now DA trades him its gonna feel like the same story over again. Hardy works his magic to find good rotations and to level up our role players just so that DA can extract some peanuts for them and at the end of the day we draft 8-10.

If that happens we can slap the label of "role player farm" on us. Thus far we have provided other teams with Conley, Beasley, Vando, KO, Ochai, Tech and Dunn. Thats 7 role players 6 of whom were aquired by DA and traded out for few bags of peanuts... and most of whom hurt our past 2 draft positions.

I think he can improve his shooting but i clearly doubt he will be very good one day.... Slow release.... He need to improve in every aspect of the game to become maybe a decent NBA player. Usually guy draft low got one thing they do well and the others have to be develop. The problem with Cody i that i don't see any part of his game where he is good already. I hope I'm wrong.
