Should the Jazz persue DeRozan?

I've liked Derozan for a long time, even before he signed his last deal that everyone said was a bad deal.
So part of me wants to see him sign here, but I don't think it's the best move. His playoff play has me worried

Also have to look at who he is going against. Wade is one of the best ever in postseason play. That has been where he has made his name as a bball player. He is also a vet. Hard matchup for DD, IMO

The Heat al9t of the game plays 4 wings and Whiteside. Small ball might not be the starting lineups but it is the way people are playing now. It is about who is on the court at the end. Bogut starts for the GSw but he is on the bench and Green is playing center in crunch time most of the time.

How did derozan do in his first round matchup?

Derozan for his career in the playoffs (3 seasons) is shooting 36% from the field and 27% from three.
Efg% of 38%.
Not stellar

Derozan with basically a DNP-CD in the 4th tonight. Only got in because Lowry fouled out. Not a good sign if you're ultimate goal is to win playoff games.

It has been rough for him. I think he is trying to do too much and defenses are getting tighter on him. He is having a rough series but somehow they won the first series and are still tied in this series, which is surprising since Lowry is struggling so much as well. I think Lowry struggles have effected DeRozan as well. Same thing happened last year after he put up great numbers the first 2 games and they lost because Lowry was awful then he died off. This years stats are bringing down his overall playoff stats though. He has played as many playoffs games this year as the rest of his career. Lillard is shooting 36 percent this playoffs though so only 1 percent better than that career #. A bad playoffs is unfortunate but it happens to plenty of players.

DeRozan would be an upgrade for the Jazz roster if we got lucky and could get him. We would have a better starting unit, he would make the rest of the team better and a much better bench for us. I do think there might be other options to look at first but I wouldnt say no to DeRozan or not pursue him unless we can land something bigger, which is also very unlikely. Maybe a bad playoffs is the luck we need to land him or a player of his lvl. He was the best player on a team that is in the second round of the playoffs and has a decent chance to get his team to the Eastern Finals, especially if he can have a big game or 2. He lead his team to 56 wins. I think we would be pretty excited about our future if we got him and we got to 56 wins next year. We have a better roster than Toronto if we have him. We also have more potential.

I would rather have DeRozan with the ball in his hands in the final 2 minutes of a game than Hayward. Hayward plays effectively most of the game, but is consistently terrible at the end of close games which is why our record is so bad in close ones.

Just your opinion after watching them both in clutch moments this season or any stats to back that up? Not an argument a genuine question I thought Hayward played about average at end game situations as he did throughout the games this year. He was pretty good at times and made a few mistakes here and there. Hayward definitely looked worse towards the end of the season but I think the combination of being worn out, frustrated and injured played into that. I think that gave Jazz fans a bad taste in their mouth to end the year. I definitely think our team is better with DeRozan and takes a lot of pressure of Hayward.

Hayward was one of the top rated players in the clutch. That was when he was at his very best. WTH were u watching??

I like DDR, but not sure he is a max player. A #2 option shouldn't be a max player by definition, especially under the new pay scale.
