Should the Jazz renegotiate and extend Favors next year?

DL should listen to offers especially when the offer is wiggins. I don't see the problem. No player on our team is untradeable. I would trade any of our guys for steph or the brow. Does that mean I don't value favors or I want him gone? I don't think so.
So then we don't have a problem. Whether DL has initiated or reacted to queries, Favors has been shopped. And I doubt ANY player likes hearing his name come up year after year in rumors. I know it's not the same in the corporate world, but if I heard Disney was trying to get me "traded" to WB or Universal, I wouldn't have the same sense of loyalty for my employer. And the next time I came up for a contract, I'd try to squeeze every last dollar I could out of them.

Are you still say we can trade Favors? I saw this this morning and I see again now all day with this one huh?

Huh?
The rumor last year is that the Jazz wanted to trade up and were offering their pick + Favors. How is that not "shopping" Derrick?
And the rumor this year (granted it is shaky from Jody's source) is that the Jazz were interested in Millsap and were looking to trade Derrick.

In both cases, the rumors from sources were presented as if the Jazz were the instigators, not that they were merely listening to offers that had come their way. And what "drama" am I ramping up? I'm merely saying it appears the Jazz have tried to shop Derrick. And if I were him, I'd be offended. Wouldn't that be the case with any one of Rus?
You ought to look up the definition of "rumor."

This is a rather inclusive definition of being shopped. It's akin to saying anything you've gotten an appraisal on implies intent to sell. I'm not certain that there's a player in the league who isn't "on the block" by this criteria.

Huh? I have REPEATEDLY said I LOVE Favors and trading him, IMO, would be a HUGE mistake. Are you franklin's alt because you keep accusing me of saying things I haven't said. What I HAVE said all along is that I think Lindsey has been more than willing to trade Derrick for two years now. And I expect next year we'll also hear "rumors." As for looking up the definition, Joe, I don't need to do. Once general specifics have been leaked, you know there were some serious negotiations taking place. That was last season, of course. This year, they only allegedly flirted with Paul Millsap. The rumors of dangling Favors were never substantiated.

Seriously, TPP, Joe and franklin need reading comprehension classes. At LEAST fishonjazz is arguing a specific point. The other three just return to trying to put false statements out about what I've said. Hey, have you three (or maybe 2?) ever thought about politics?

For me shop means that the jazz don't want a player and are trying to get rid of him even if they don't get a great package in return.

I don't think it's shopping a player to listen to offers. Maybe that is where we disagree

Well you keep say all this I just read you say it another thread about Larsen. I wish you would stop to. I can't help you. I'm sorry.

Yes, I guess we disagree on the definition. To me:
1. Dump "means that the jazz don't want a player and are trying to get rid of him even if they don't get a great package in return."

2. Shop means DL calls GM's around the league saying Favors is available for the right price.

3. Listen to offers means DL is receiving calls from other GM's asking if player X or Y can be had.

To me, there is a huge difference between #2 and #3. I think Lindsey probably fielded a ton of calls about Gobert last season. I don't think the term would have ever been used that he was "shopped." Kanter was definitely shopped and then dumped.

I don't think has happened though

I think it did last season when the Jazz tried to move up to #1. Of course, there's also the possibility that the Jazz' offer did NOT include Favors and that was the sticking point. I can entertain that possibility.
