Snyders failure to improve younger players costing the Jazz when their needed

OP spent last offseason saying that Exum would be better than Hill and anybody who disagreed was told they don't understand basketball.

Then when that didn't pan out, instead of admitting he was wrong, he spent all season blaming Snyder and anybody who disagreed was again told they don't understand basketball.

This is just more of the same drivel.

Exum will be a very good player, maybe better than Hill, and Quin will have a big role in making that happen. I can't think of too many franchises that develop player better than the Jazz, maybe the Spurs.

Lol. Great thread, lots of great things in here. Cannot emphasize enough the greatness of this conversation.

You say wrong coach, I say wrong players.

Some of them may be wrong because of injury, or circumstances, but they are still not the right fit.

1. They're*
2. Who is Shane Mack?
3. Burks has not been playing well lately plus he's been out with a knee injury, that's why he's not playing.
4. Exum hasn't played yet because Quin is going with who he believes has the hot hand at PG on a given night. It's not an age issue. He played Neto last game.
5. Lyles has played terrible all year. He was given opportunity and struggled big time. Shoving him in there in the playoffs isn't going to help his confidence. He needs to reset this offseason.
6. Quin is a good coach. Give him a break.

Neto is the case in point that Quin doesn't developed the young ones like he could. Even when theyou are ready to contribute (Neto), they still can't find minutes in the playoffs.

I think we've all agreed Burks would be more effective in another system. It's just not a good fit.
Exum has shown improvement this year, not a ton, just needs time I do think he's a long term fit in Quin's offense.

Call it premature if you want

BUT what if this becomes Exum's last game in a Utah uniform ?

This scenario might have legs ...... Jazz go down with their veterans getting all the minutes and lose tonight and Clippers close it out in LA.
GHill is signed to a huge contract and Mack and Neto figure to be cheaper on the overall payroll of the Jazz .Exum already is buried at the end of the bench on Snyder's team.Snyder hasn't shown himself to be able to develop younger players and values the older veterans.

I can easily see the Jazz trading out draft picks and their young guys for veterans to surround Gobert and Hayward after this year as well.

Hopefully Jazz win tonight and Gobert makes it back for game 6 and this doesn't happen BUT....
