What's new

Someone made a short compilation of officiating from the raptors game

30 free throws for the raptors to 10 for the Jazz in the second half. Just saying

**** the refs. I've already given up watching the rest of the NBA entirely. If they keep this up they'll disenfranchise even more diehard fans than they already have.

Average viewership is flat or down across all networks since 2012-13.

Attendance is flat.

TV rating is down to about 2.0 from 5.0 in 96, 3.0 in 2001 and 2011.

If it weren't for the mega TV deal increases a risk all sports the NBA would be the ghetto of north American sports.

Nah, first half was 19 FT for Jazz and 5 FT for Raptors so eventually it just evened out as Leonard just went to the basket every time in 3 quarter... Jazz just stopped attacking the paint.. It was 4th quarter and Rudy had 4 FG attempts only whole game, we forgot to involve our bigs in second half. Couple of those late calls were annoying though as refs just typically wait to see if basket is made to ignore minor contact or if it is missed they decide to call it. Frustrating but they do it to everybody.

I counted two late whistles after misses which are annoying and typical for most NBA refs. The other ones where within reasonable amount of time when it comes to reaction from referee. Couple of those reach in fouls on Ingles though was Kawhi getting start treatment, I bet if the roles would be reversed they would not call it.

Those late calls when the refs would wait to see if there ball went in the hoop for the raptors and then when they realized it was a miss they called the foul doe

We didn’t lose because of the refs.
We lost because of the 10-0 run in the third, but you could argue that we could have come back and won.

I mean, a lot of arguments about officiating would be like a guy getting pulled over by police for speeding and then being shot. "He shouldn't have been speeding and this would have never happened." Yeah, true, but irrelevant. He also wouldn't have been shot if he weren't shot.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about it. Annoying but they do it to everybody, especially when attacking player is a star.

3 of those fouls are Rudy sticking his forearm into drivers. That's probably not called all the time, but if they call it, you can't keep doing it.

The 4 calls that seemed kind of bogus to me are: The blocking foul on Dante, the fastbreak foul on Rubio (though why put yourself in that position if you arent going to challenge the layup), the poke out from behind on Ingles, and the fastbreak foul on Favors against Siakim.

Everything else seemed mostly legitimate or not a good angle for me to judge.

We got down to 4 points and let Leonard do whatever he wanted.

Agreed

A video like this could be made from the 2nd quarter of the 76ers game. Just destroyed by the refs for a whole quarter. Call those on Leonard and Siakam if you want, but call also the same contact on Crowder or Mitchell the other way. They didn't.

Think most people have nailed it here, Cy's points were pretty spot on and the late whistles that came because the refs were pretty clearly waiting to see if it was going in before they decided to call a foul is garbage but at the same time the Jazz didn't really adjust.

Only thing I'd point out was the video also neglected some missed fouls on the Jazz down the other end too in the 3rd which compounded the issue.

The NBA is legit a joke.

Lol. Looks like someone had a line to uphold. Amazing the jazz are never on the good end of these. Harden and co get these all day vs the jazz but only get the opposite treatment vs a team like the Warriors. Strange how that works.
