Have any of you bought this game? If so thoughts? Favorite faction?

For those of you that don't know it is a PC RTS war game that is fun as well.

I was spending 5 hours online with the first SC during the University days, but now, after 15 years, I prefer candy crush :D

The old one is somethig I still play from time to time. One of the best, if not the best, RTS games ever.

Try the new one. It more than lives up to the hype. Some really cool new units and abilities on all sides.

I don't know if I will buy this expansion. I always hated playing as Zerg, I was always terrible with them.

You only have to be the ZERG in the campaign. You still get all the upgrades for each faction, and can be any faction, in mulitplayer and against the comp in A.I. matches.

I suck at Zerg as well. I was always a Terran player.

I'll get it. Not a big multiplayer fan. Not a big fan of playing zerg either.

Yeah I get it for the campaign and then I will play a game agaisnt the computer about once a week. Fun stuff. That multiplayer stuff is way beyond my skill level.

i played the first and brood war. i liked play as zerg, but protos were may fav. I would dominate on domination!!

There is a new very long range ship that the Protoss were given. Basically it will kill any ground unit from beyond their range. Keeps the Terrans and Zerg on their toes.

The game has gotten so complex with strategies and counter stategies. Different units are effective against different races or individual units. Hit and runs, terrain advantages, burrowed units, invisible units, light v. heavy armor, splash damage. Just a ton of little factors to consider. So damn fun and hard.

Say what you want UGLI. I like it and dont give a damn what any nay sayers have to say. It's fun.

In first SC, I was expert on Zerg rush and Zealot rush. You have to kill your enemy in 7-8 minutes. That's fun.

My life for Auir!

Multiplayer isn't difficult. If anything it's easier than campaign. It's just not fun to me.

Starting out yeah. But as you start winning more and more the opponenets get harder and soon you just get beat all the time by kids who live and breath that game.

No doubt. I just don't get the appeal of 5-minute games.

I usually like a good 30-45 minute game. Somethig that challenges me but is doable if I play well. I'll set up an AI match were I fight up to 4 computer players.

That's probably the route I'll go with this game unless playing zerg gets fun. Set up versus AI.

Also, Age of Kings 2 is coming out with an HD version.

I am on the last mission and I am just steam rolling everything. I suggest if you want more of a challenge that you go with a moderate difficulty. I did casual and it is laughable easy. Only stuck with it to see the whole story faster. Some of the "mutations" that you can make to your army thru the course of the campaign are very overpowered. Multiplayer does not have them and is evenly matched like always.

For example:
Instant Overlord hatching
Instant Zergling hatching with a strain called "Swarmlings" that hatch 3 at once instead of 2 that take time to hatch.
Ultralisks that cocoon and get reborn after they die automatically.
