Stars Off the Schneid

Stars won fairly handily vs Iowa. In a strange game stats wise JWF was the Stars leading rebounder with 9, Brantley their leading assist guy with 5 and Bluiett their leading scorer with 21 and 5-9 from 3. Oni looked good. Haas, JWF, Brantley, Oni and Collinsworth also in double figures. No NWG or Willie Reed as both are still injured.
How do watch these games anyhow?
Larsen with a positive yet honest assessment of Brantley.

Once he's perfect he can take Niang's minutes... because Niang is perfect... oh wait

Just play the kid a little for hell's sake... some of the weird choices could be because his usage is way higher than it will be in the league.

sounds like the sign of a rookie, young player plus he ain’t going to have even close to the same usage rate as in the GLeague

Larsen sounds like a Utah Jazz org apologist.
That’s funny because I feel that Andy has been the most questioning/critical of the main media guys. Locke is more questioning than he gets credit for, though.

Larsen can pretty tough on the organization and on the players at times. Walden too tho to a lesser extent. Walden used to kill Jeff Green on Twitter during the game.

I welcome it. Small market media often tend to become cheerleaders.

I think both Andy and Locke question the Jazz very appropriately at times. The homerism thing is way overplayed. Even someone who asks challenges what theJazz organization does can agree with them. Good take by Andy.

I agree... I think Locke speaks highly of the front office and org, so it comes off as pandering. He's a naturally cheesy guy (I like him... just calling a spade a spade.) so it probably comes off weird at times.

I like our front office guys... I really do. I think they are overly conservative at times and slow to move. I think DL is of the San Antonio mindset, and I'm not sure how well that model fits the modern era. Contracts are shorter, there is more player movement, thus championship windows are tighter. The continuity, wait it out game ain't gonna work like it did in the Stockton/Malone or TD/Tony Parker/Manu days.

Stars got smoked tonight by 30. Willie Reed played and was on a minutes restriction got 14 points and 7 boards in 16 minutes. JWF, Oni and Brantley made double figures along with Collinsworth. JWF, Oni and Brantley looked very disinterested. Stockton had three rookies that looked all world. Kyle Guy is a point guard the Jazz could have drafted this spring in the late 2nd round and made our guards look sick.
