STAYWARD

I would take any of the following for Hayward over losing him for nothing:

Brown
Crowder
Draft picks

All of those have value.

No way in hell they give us Brown, probably not Crowder either.

The best we could ask for is probably Bradley, who only has a year left on his contract.

The sad thing is I was beginning to try to come to terms with the fact that he actually left. Then to find out ESPN got trolled was hilarious. Now I have hope that he is actually staying. What a **** show, circus, roller coaster ride, etc. The only thing he can do to save face now is stay.

I saw he left and was about to pack up to go for a hike then I saw the news that it wasnt true. Havent been able to stop refreshing twitter ever since. It sucks.

Hayward: OK, I'm like 90% Utah, but I just don't know about that last 10%.
Bartelstein: How about we float out that its Boston, see how that feels.
Jazz Twitter: time to F urself Hayward you f'n tool
Bartelstein: wow. They really hate you
Hayward: whoa, I gotta reconsider everything.
Bartelstein: OK, so first we met with Pat Reilly and Spoles--
Hayward: no, I mean EVERYTHING. Why are we here.

They dont have to do a sign and trade though. They can fairly easily clear space without one.

Only reason to do it is is to keep the pieces they do have to dump to make space for Hayward away from the Eastern Conference.

Hayward may have asked them to throw Utah a bone to help him feel less guilty about leaving us high and dry. Only reason to do it because he could get assets for both smart or crowder and they have to move someone of that salary.

I really think something else is going on here. The Jazz are exploring a trade or two that they discussed with Hayward and Hayward can't make his decision until that happens. In the meantime, this drama only serves to put pressure on the Jazz to give up another asset in a trade for whichever player is in play.

I really don't think Hayward is this mentally conflicted. That's just a cover story.

The Clippers got a 1st from Houston so I just don't know.

Bradley is a perfect fit and massive fan favorite. As is Crowder. Losing those guys for Hayward is a tougher sell.

I see Brown being expendable because of Crowder, Tatum and Hayward. You have two guys ready to play now and one to groom. Better than grooming 2 guys at the same position while trying to appease Hayward.

Smart makes the most sense for Boston because they can tell the fanbase they cant afford him next summer. Not sure I want Smart though...

If it is a sign and trade then Brown is the guy I want to build around. Boston will have Tatum, Brown, Crowder, Hayward all playing the 3. Very crowded.

Brown in a S&T makes me feel better if Hayward is gone. Crowder is a good player, but Brown gives us a building piece. If it really is a S&T and Boston doesn't want this to lag out to the point that Hayward changes his mind again... who knows.

I noticed another twitter feed almost immediately after the #fakenews broke that said Jaylen Brown is unnecessary for Boston and that they have to renounce Olynyk and half a dozen other players upon signing Hayward.

That just doesnt make sense to me. Why would Hayward want to go to Boston, then tell that team to weaken their assets to get him when they could just get him by trading away assets and probably getting stuff back to make their team stronger?

The whole reason Hayward would want to go to Boston is because they are a stacked team in a bad conference. Doesnt make sense for him to want to weaken that stack.

I think he is just super indecisive.

Just completely forget about Brown. There is no way in hell they are trading him.

My take is that what's going on is exactly what's being reported. I think Hayward has gone back and forth between the Celtics and the Jazz, he's feeling confused, he got to a point this afternoon where he said, "Ok, I'm going to go to the Celtics." He went and grabbed a snack, started feeling doubtful, came back and said, "Actually, I'm not sure..." but by then someone around his table and already called ESPN.

Now, in addition to deciding what team to join, he also has to think about controlling the damage from the fallout.
