Well, it certainly means that he didn't stroll in there and thank them for everything but he's going elsewhere.

It also doesn't mean he walked in, gave Rubio a hug, and then said: "Where's the contract?"

They could be exploring various offensive and defensive schemes in depth and how they'd implement Rubio alongside Hayward.

They could be exploring potential trade options with Favors, etc.

They could know Hayward is on the fence and are trying to compare/contrast the Jazz's future with Boston or Miami's.

They could be looking at free agent availability over the next 3-4 years, looking at their own player development metrics, and discussing what's more likely to yield a third star.

Who knows?
