Steph Curry is the best shooter ever

For once, I agree with CJ. The practice of anointing players entirely to early is annoying as hell. LeBron James is only now living up to the hype of 5-6 years ago.

Nash from 05-06 to 08-09 shot over 50% from 2 every year and shot 43.9%, 45.5%, 47%, and 43.9% for a total % of 45.2 over the 4 year stretch.
He also played in most of the games, without an injury season.
He shot spot up shots, off the dribble shots, and catch and shoot situations.
He also shot a high volume of shots over that 4 year stretch.

I hereby anoint Nash the Greatest shooter of all time label based on those 4 years.

Who's with me?

Curry is great, nobody is denying it, but who knows if he will end up being a Jason Kapono all time shooter, or a Reggie Miller all time shooter when it is all said and done?
I personally think injury will cut his career short, but it would be a pleasure to see him have a good long career.
Lets wait and see what happens before we break out the crown.

I'm not ready to put him up there with Miller, Hornacek, Ellis, Nash, Rice, Bird, Mullin, Nowitski, Allen, Richmond, Stojakovic, Price,or even Kerr.... and he hasn't even had enough time in the league to be in a Korver, Kapono comparison yet even if he will likely easily pass them up because he is not one dimensional as a player like they are.

....yeah, hard to find video's of NBA shooters who actually make shots on a consistent basis! Of course, guys that are "unstoppable" like Curry end up in the Finals and win championship after championship after championship, right? And Curry has a bunch of those already, correct? Plus, scoring titles, all-star appearances, and a host of other "unbelievable" achievements to behold! Oh, wait! He's out of the playoffs already this year? No!? And his shooting percentage dropped like a brick out of the sky the last 4 games? No!? Howz about passing on some more of those unbelievable video's so we can see for ourselves!!!

No, i'm talking about shooters.

Steph is a career 44.6% 3pt shooter. For example, Ray Allen played in the NBA 18 years and only shot 44.6% or higher once

Steph's WORST year in the NBA was his rookie year...where he shot 43.7%.

These numbers are amazing.

By the way, he already had some severe injuries. Didn't have a consistent team around. He is young. Unfair to compare.

...unfair to put him in the HOF as well.....and give him the title of "best shooter of all time", too!

There was this guy named Bird who used to make shot after shot, elevated his game in the playoffs and won a bunch of championships. Career avgs of 50%/38% and 24 pts./game. Or how about Reggie Miller who maintained averages of 47%/40% over his amazing 18 year career?! No doubt Curry has had a fantastic start to his career, but come back when he's able to put up his stats over 10 or more years. Longevity matters!

Thought I might bring this thread started by the "hack" up to the front.....in view of what Green has done in the finals! I'd say he's a better 3 point shooter right now than Curry is/was! And under the pressure of the NBA finals and doing it both at home and on the road!

I thought you were gonna bump this for Ray Allen's shot.

Lol. Danny Green a better shooter than Curry? He's on a nice streak. He certainly is not up there with the best ever.
