Steve Kerr's Passionate Personal Stand on Gun Control

Being at a busy gun range has always made me very nervous. You can see that the partitions between the shooting lanes have been shot a half-dozen times, really makes you wonder.

Terrible that he killed his own son. I don't know how a person could live with that.

To me the only thing that would keep me going is my wife and other kids.

If something happened to all of them I would withdraw my entire 401k and head to asia and go out in one massive weekend that I never survived.

I agree with all that except Asia. Not sure I'd make that my final destination.

Guns really aren't the problem, the majority of Americans are ****ing lunatics because of all the toxins pumped into their fat frames. That's fact too, I'd rather cut my dick off and be a Jazzfan than live in that cesspool of ill informed sheep.

What a dumb ***. Automatic weapons are illegal. If he's basing it off the standards of 1776, women and African Americans still wouldn't be able to vote (or hold office).

Umm. That's pretty much the point he's making.

I've never been remotely worried about hunters in the woods, but there is an old saying out here: Why do hunters all wave to each other? Because they all have guns.

and because it's a polite, friendly way to make sure the other hunters see you????? Sometimes wearing red/orange just isn't enough. . .

The American Revolution started when a bunch of very orderly, compliant, government soldiers followed their orders to go seize some guns and gunpowder. This happened in the context of authoritarian Brit overlords denying colonial citizens their British rights under the Magna Carta, heaping insult upon insult to prove their absolute, arbitrary power over the colonies.

This is much like the real world we face under global ideals of unified authority under UN and regional governance, with bureaucracies that are not in any meaningful way responsive to the citizenry. That's why the Brexit vote got up enough concerned Brits to say "whoa".

British Commonwealth citizens have yielded much to the oligarchs, so much the Magna Carta is pretty much going by the wayside under "new and improved governance", which is a lie. Hillary is an example of why progressive ideals are delusional. . . you get too many lawless people working the levers of power they become untouchable, arrogant, and tyrannical. The wrong class of people rise to the top when the governance is beyond reach from the people.

If ordinary people have the firepower to take back their government under an extreme to that extent, the "Hillaries" of the world just won't risk their own necks.

dreams of a better world just crumble to nothing when the wrong people seize the power.

Thanks Babe... I don't have a strong view either way about the US gun laws, I can only speak to what we have here in NZ, but as we've already discussed at length, it's a different culture, different history, different political and social environment, everything, etc.

It will be interesting to see how this is resolved going forward when Trump is elected (most likely outcome now that Hillary is under extreme scrutiny?).

No, Trump will not be our president. There will be no indictment if Hillary.
