In all seriousness, he misspoke about auto weapons. But is that any worse than the complete and utter misspeaking that the gun nuts of this country say on the norm?
For example, "gun control doesn't effect gun violence." Huh? Mountains of data from countries to our own very states prove otherwise. Industrialized countries with strict gun control have lower gun violence. Same thing with states. Look at the top 15 states for gun violence. They're all red states with lax gun laws.
"Gun laws don't work. They only punish good people while bad guys ignore laws." So asinine yet so common. Why have any laws on anything then?
"People would be safer if they were all packing." Anyone actually believe that bars and dance clubs full of drunk people packing heat would be safer than a bar or dance club full of drunks without?
"Gun are only tools. Just like a hammer or screwdriver." Does this really need to be explained?
So while we can make fun of Kerr's lack of understanding of gun anatomy, is it really any worse than the nonsense spewed by the NRA, republicans, and gun nuts on the norm after our bi-weekly slaughter of a church, school, or place of recreation?
