What's new

Stupid Pet Peeves

"like, um, yeah... ya know?"

I recently spent a few hours with a friend I don't see very often who uses that phrase WAY TOO MUCH. Sometimes I have to work too damn hard to figure out what she's saying. Then I realize why I don't make more of an effort to see her more often.

No stick pans. I cook a couple eggs every morning....wash the pan....looks totally spotless....put it away. Then I pull it out the next morning and it always looks like a bird crapped in it overnight.

People who play Buckner but don't understand Buckner. It's supposed to be people we'd rather have on the Jazz than Buckner, not any word that comes to mind. Might have to start negging Buckner violators to get things under control.

I hate it when I'm in week eight of the semester and my Anthropology teacher hasn't graded a single assignment, won't return any emails, does pointless, ********, boring powerpoint presentations every week that have ZERO point, because she doesn't test on anything we do in class. She didn't tell us this until AFTER our first test, which everyone bombed because they studied her lame *** power point garbage.

Seriously, F the Po Leece.

I have straight A's except for that class, which I'm sitting in right now, and I'm pulling down a whopping 45%.

What kind of anthro? What was on the test?

Intro class, which is easy enough, just as long as you know what the **** you're supposed to be studying.

Intro is a pain if you have no interest in the subject. It's essentially concepts and terminology and a very rudimentary introduction to the four disciplines. I think professors hate teaching it since it's boring and trivial for them.

I was most excited for this class at the beginning of the semester, and I'm bent that my teacher is ruining the experience for me -- at least, in my opinion. She's an adjunct and the only teacher in the university that teaches the subject. Come to find out, she's a sociology teacher who just took the job because they needed someone. She taught us the other day that the dinosaurs died out because of a comet that hit the Earth.

Sociology =/= Anthropology, even if the studies are within the same department.

Have any questions, ask. Only have a Bachelor's but I was a student for Intro my senior year, so I have an idea of student's problems in Intro (and the Intro class I was an SI in was also with an adjunct professor, but her problem was her hard to understand accent, not seeming indifference).
