When I first started my own business, I was too cheap. I’ve learned how to bid better/charge more. I’m probably still in the lower end of industry standard, but I lose bids regularly.

Good. About charging more. So far as losing bids, I’m sure most jobs get bids from at least three or four electricians. Knowing that, I’d guess you “lose” bids about 67-75% of the time.

There are a lot of jobs (most) that get bids from multiple general contractors. On occasion I know I’m low for a GC, but they won’t win the job.
