Stupid Pet Peeves

Just got home from the pub, house smells like a **** tip, need to turf the cats old food, job for the morning, stinks to hell.

I see you have a new nickname for the wife.

In a reverse pet peeve the second division of the men's national league football has started, great to see the old ethnic clubs, with their generational hatreds involved. #realfootball

Ancient dog is an awesome nickname for my wife when I need to cut deep. Of course she'd come back with a deeper cut. Enjoy the generational hateball.

She's 14.5 years old and a cairn terrier.

This isn't her but she looks the same:

Cute!
Dogs are the best but my God it sucks watching them grow old and die.
My best boy died in February. He was about 18 years old.

I'm on my first and probably only dog. 4 years and counting. He is great, but we only got him to help kids deal with COVID stuff issues and stress.
What breed?

A couple years ago now my wife and I had to put down a cat we got while we were still dating, before our kid was born. The cat was about 22 years old and traveled with us all over, including being a stow away in hotels that didn't allow pets and an apartment building that also didn't allow pets. Actually helped us get out of the lease where we were about to break because just days before we were going to tell them we were going to break the lease they called us in and told us that the cat had been discovered. They said we'd either have to get rid of the cat (not an option for us) or we'd be evicted. We acted like this was a really rough situation all while hiding our giddiness and telling them we just couldn't get rid of the cat. They acted like we were crazy for picking our pet over our apartment. I'm sure they thought we had only recently gotten the cat, even though we had her years before we moved in. We would have pick the cat either way but this saved us the fees involved in breaking our lease.

Anyway, she was blind and had bad teeth but my wife had to talk me into putting her down. The first pet that was mine and not a family pet of my parents and was still with me into my 40s. She was a clumsy scaredy cat that didn't dare go outside and couldn't have killed a mouse if you put them both in a small box but she had fur like a chinchilla and was very affectionate.

Her name was Pandora and I always thought it was funny when it was time to change Pandora's Box

We've had five dogs but finally got a cat two years ago. First we had a black lab and golden retriever and when they passed another golden and a cairn terrier and morkie. Our second golden passed and our cairn and morkie are both 14. I love having a cat. So cool yet so wild. He's affectionate and he's a stone-cold killer. A stubentiger as they say in german, which means room-tiger. When he gets that look I gotta be careful because he'll draw blood.
