Summer 2015: FIBA games of Utah Jazz players

Think it is clear that Serbia has been the best team in round 1. Is France's better play today an indication that were not taking this first round to seriously?
 
France finished group play with the fewest points allowed and second best point differential. Group B had the 4 top scoring teams (Spain #1) and Serbia had the best point differential.

You are correct, NC; Serbia has been the best and most consistent. So if I'm reading the schedule correctly, France has to go through the following to get to the Finals:
1. Turkey (not a gimmee by any means)
2. The winner of Slovenia/Latvia
3. Likely Spain or Greece

Well the ironic thing is that Israel is in Asia, but they play in Eurobasket. One poster believes it is due to the belief that a lot of the muslim countries in Asia would boycott playing against them. If Israel played in Asia they would be the favorites to win that tournament.

Only watched a few minutes of the France game since it was a blowout, but now looking at the boxscore Israel did not even play their 3 best players and probably their 4th best only played a few minutes so we will have to see if France is really clicking now.
 
Wow. Venezuela beats Canada and qualifies for the Olympics. All those NBA guys for Canada were not enough. They will now have to qualify through the q tournaments next year. Pretty bad of Canada.

From the 4th quarter I saw they were getting basically nothing from their guard line. Defenders were playing well of Corey Joseph and daring him to make a play.
 
Argentina holds on and punches their ticket to Olympics. So far half the field if filled

USA
Brazil
Australia
Nigeria
Venezuela
Argentina

It's not only that they would boycott playing against them, but it also presents serious security risks if they don't boycott.
 
Eurobasket tomorrow

France vs Turkey 1MTish. If the good Turkish team shows up they could give France a tough game. Osman has played well for such a young guy.

Also

Latvia vs Slovenia 4AM MT. No Goran Dragic for Slovenia so Slovenia has been up and down this tournament.
Greece vs Belgium 6:30MT Greece has been second best team after Serbia so they should win without to much problem.
Spain vs Poland 10:30MT Spain has not been to great and Poland has not played badly at all. No shock here if Poland wins.

Um, Turkish federation did not even invite Kanter to their training camp (politics). They could definitely use him though. Asik is out with injury. So it will be Erden vs Gobert. Erden was briefly in the NBA.
