Summer 2015: FIBA games of Utah Jazz players

Pain in his achilles tendon. Does not sound to serious. Jaiteh is actually the guy to replace him. Gobert is going to play a lot of minutes.
I don't think anyone in the Jazz organization or on this board is going to breathe easily until these damned FIBA games are over.

Why are they "damned" FIBA games? Playing for ones country is not worthwhile? It is ok for American players but not the rest of the world? I personally find country vs country more interesting. I think it is great Gobert is proud of his country and wants to play for them. What would we think if Lebron decided to never play for the US?

In what has the world come to. From eurobasket15.org

Kyrylo Fesenko, a 2.16m center with a dominant presence on both ends of the floor, is one of the natural leaders and also the most experienced member of the team which head coach Evgeny Murzin has picked to represent the nation at EuroBasket 2015.

Fes is all grown up?

On a side note: AK47 is now the head of the Russian basketball federation. They are a mess so AK needs to right the ship there.

Outside of the Olympics, I don't think most Americans really care about these qualifying tournaments. We saw what the George injury did to Indiana last summer; their season went straight down the crapper. Dante's injury has hampered his progress with Utah. If Gobert were to get hurt - buh-bye to any playoff chances. It would be a wasted year for the Jazz.

He looks like he may just work out for a backup big. Like that he sets picks on offense, even outside of a pick and roll. Also like how he keeps the ball up high and never brings it down where the smurfs can mess with it. Would love to see some iso opportunities on defense. . .

yup, dude screens with chest hair. Moving screens are often a two-way street-- guilt can be as much on the guard as it is on the big.

one thing I like about Pleiss is that he isn't as spastic on offense as Kanter is. Screens, screens again, if both are denied then he tries sealing his man in the post & calls for the ball. Nothing flashy or fancy-- but basically what he needs to do for Utah when he comes over.

His help-defense will be much more important to this squad than his post-defense. That's the big if-- can Snyder put him in a position to be a plus defender? Or do we have another Kanter on our hands?

Sucks for Jazz, but still does not mean guys should not represent their country. The Eurobasket tournament is what auto qualifies two countries for the Olympics. Then 3-7 will get a chance to qualify later on. Truly the World Cup is really the best intl competition to determine which country is the best. More teams and more games in World Cup.

I may not breathe easy, but I'll sure as hell enjoy watching him dominate while I hold my breath. Kinda sucks that he's playing for fear of injury and or fatigue, but as a basketball fan and Rudy worshiper in the summer, it's awesome.
