Summer 2019 Roster Discussion

The guy isn't perfect, but the guy also won't cost $30+. I just think JJ would be a good consolation prize when we are hoping for so much more. Korver looked absolutely awful last postseason for Cleveland, but he is looking great for us so far.

If we strike out on bigger targets, keeping Favors and signing Redick makes us better than just keeping Favors and Rubio.
It‘d be more efficient looking for shooters in the draft/the G league. We've already got Korver as the “experienced shooter”. What we need right now is some fresh young players that can actually play some solid minutes. Shooting, if any thing, is the most “ready to go” skill in the NBA. Shouldn't be hard to find young players minutes if they can actually shoot.

Redick plays 31+mpg right now and is considered one of the best shooters in the game. Why would want to go spend money on a guy we gotta groom? And like I said before, Redick is a better player than Korver. Plus, I like what Korver brings off the bench.

The question I have is - does Redick make us much better than Rubio? I think the answer is yes.

Him being an upgrade over rubio? I'm not as sure on that as I'm on Sato. Redick doesn't have the size or lateral quickness to keep up with most of the guards in this league. He can handle the ball and make some plays occasionally, but not on a consistent basis. He is more of a threat off ball than he is on ball, which will only add more loads to Ingles and Donovan. Literally the only thing he does better than Rubio is his shooting, while in other areas he is either slightly worse or significantly worse.

but at least he won't be worse than Rubio. especially now that the realization of "Ricky ain't comin back" has been reached.

I don't think that realization has been reached yet, at least not by the front office. I think the most likely outcome this offseason is picking up Favor's option and signing Rubio to a 1+1 contract pretty much identical to Favors. So we'll run it back with basically the exact same team for the second straight season.

Still depends on how we do in the playoffs though. if we can make a deep run like we did last year, could be the outcome like you said. It'd be very tough though, as most of our potential opponents have gotten better since last year.

Obviously no one is beating the warriors. Utah though has a good chance against everyone else. I think they're suited against Denver cause Denver don't have really good guards and Rudy can contain the big centre. Best case scenario they play Denver in 2nd round.

We are undefeated with Mitchell and Ingles running the offense.
- How well would a starting unit of Mitchell, Redick, Ingles, Favors and Gobert do?
- If we are trying to put Mitchell in more positions to attack the defense, wouldn't Redick spread the floor that much more? - Doesn't Gobert lead the league in screen assists and isn't Redick one of the best players in the entire league coming off screens?

especially Oubre, wondering why he isn't being talked about in this thread.

#restricted

Why would Phoenix and Washington trade for these guys knowing they have their rights just to let them go? Maybe they do if we overpay, but are these guys worth an overpay?

Redick is a name I haven't thought about.

But I like his fit a lot, and he's probably gettable if Philly has to re-sign everyone else.

One more dude I'd be happy with.

Ingles Korver and Redick on the same team would be lit.
