Summer 2019 Roster Discussion

So I'll just drop this in both threads then I guess?

Former EuroLeague champion and Final Four MVP Ekpe Udoh is considering making a comeback in Europe. According to Eurohoops sources, Udoh has been mulling over several big multiyear offers he has in his hands by EuroLeague powerhouses. If the 32-year-old center accepts any of these proposals, he will return to the competition after spending the last two seasons in the NBA with the Utah Jazz.
Good. I like Ekpe. He genuinely seems like an amazing person. He was a star over in Europe and a 3rd center here in the NBA. I think he’s a guy that’s as interested in the experience as he is the money. I could see him going back in Europe.

You obviously do care or you wouldn’t have bumped a dead thread then gone into another thread to advertise your dead thread.

In 11 years of wasting time on this site, I have never seen anything like it.

Well, I mean, our resident pouty bitch who threatens leaving all the time, has gone years back into the draft prospect threads and edited what he said or deleted posts, all to make himself look smarter than he is.

Utah needs to offer D'Angelo Russell the max the first second their allowed to. Anyone who says otherwise is dumb.

Then u gotta hope the Nets land Kyrie, and i guess, KD..... And Utah gets 23 yo All star Russell outa thin air...

That is the dream scenario..

What's Plan B since you have to renounce Favors first, and Brooklyn ties up Utah's cap space for 3 days? Go after Conley? Dragic and some wings?

Utah seems too risk-averse to offer a max to a RFA. They would probably wait for the big name FAs to sign in Brooklyn and hope for Brooklyn to renounce DLo.

I think no matter what, we should be renouncing/waiving Favors. If we keep him, I want to lock him up to a cheaper but long term deal. If we gave Favors 3 years $35-40 million, that's more than he's getting in the open market and it saves us $5+ million for this summer. Of course we only offer him that if we miss out on the big targets.

Just picking up at Favors at $18 million should be out of the discussion. At least in my opinion.

Why? Then you've locked yourself into Favors for 3 years. Strike out in FA and keep him on an expiring and you still maintain the ability to pursue a trade into the deadline. For a team looking to shed a veteran, an expiring has more value than Derrick at 3 years.

I'm fine with Favors staying at a lower number. He might only play 20 minutes per night with a majority of those being our backup C, but he has proven to be a force in the lockerroom and at times during the playoffs.

I guess I'm just tired of the dance we do where we act like we are going to trade Favors at the deadline then we say he just means to much and we don't do it. Lock him down to a more appropriate amount ($12 instead of $18) and let's just move on.

Of course that is if we miss out on Tobias and Randle.
