Summer League Notes And Discussion

Bolomboy kinda looks dumb and lost on the court kindof like when Exum is sucking. Bradley might be a decent backup C with time.

I didnt watch Bolomboy in the D-league last season so maybe he showed something there. But he does not look like an NBA player. But its also summer league.

Think of all the teams we are going to have to keep tabs on next season :)

Jazz
76ers
Bucks
Spurs

Surely Bogut gets at least the vet min somewhere. He would be a crazy good pick up for Jazz still imo.
Baynes - not sure he should have declined his option, but he will get picked up somewhere.

I don't Bogut would help us that much. But i think Boston picks him up at some stage, he would sure help them a tonne.

I was surprised Baynes opted out.

This was a really useful exercise for Exum. He was able to apply what he has been learning in game situation, fight through a little adversity, and actually play through some mistakes without worrying about being pulled. Really happy with his progress. If I'm the Jazz I try to get him extended on a nice team friendly deal as soon as possible. He still has a good amount of work to do, but the tools are there.

It will be fun to see Donovan have the ball in his hands a little bit more in Vegas. I think the thing with him will be to see if he can play within the flow of the offense, and not take a bunch of bad shots.

Bradley needs a ton of work. He's really unathletic. I'm a bit worried about him, but maybe they think he is just a long term project. I'm thinking he should be in the D-league basically all year.

Right now I don't think NWG is an NBA player. Maybe as he adjusts to the game a bit more he'll figure out how to make it work. It just looks like the athleticism is too much for him at this point.

I need to see more Bolomboy. I still like his skills, but I don't think this kind of game (bad execution) is a good showcase of how he can play. He's much better in a disciplined game with better players imo.

Excited for vegas.

I forgot Semi Ojeleye was on Boston. Did he do anything these 3 games?
No. They played him at SG, but he looked more like a PF in a SF body. Seemed in over his head. Guy is built like a tank though.

• Jonah Bolden for the 76ers impressed me a lot more.

• Tatum and a Fultz both looked pretty good (mostly).

• Mitchell looked like the best guy on the court in every game IMO. Even when his shot is off, he contributes so much in other places and his defense is fantastic. I like that he shut Tatum down in the 2nd half and let the team get back into the game.

• Bradley looked pretty good to me, but seems two years of hard work away from contributing for the Jazz.

• Bolomboy was up and down. Still like his potential though.

• Zizic, Korkmaz and Brown didn't really do much to impress me.

• Jaylon Brown, in particular, was a huge disappointment. He looked like "just a guy" instead of a top 3 pick. I think he's more of a PF instead of a SF and Tatum looks more like a SG to me. If Boston is willing to just bit the bullet, they'd be well off to start IT, Tatum, Hayward, Brown and Horford. Depends on what they do with Smart, Bradley and Crowder.

I just saw Exum's highlights. He's doing a few Tony Parker things. This the first time I've seen him do a spin move on a drive, and another move where he used slight hesitation to draw a foul.

NWG seems like a poor man's (and I mean broke) Brogdon.

Loved the mitchell tatum matchup. DM picked his lunch so tatum had to foul, mitchell turns and gets in his grill

Next possession, mitchell tatum 1on1, tatum falls to the ground trying to defend ...got a nice viewpoint of a sweet mitchell assist that went right where tatum was standing a half second earlier

Baynes will sign somewhere for more than he was getting at Detroit, no idea where bogut ends up. Im lucky im a public servant i can watch most of the games at work. #yourtaxdollarswellspent
