Suns Jazz Trade Rumor

I really hope this trade happens. It makes a lot of sense for both sides. We're likely going to get one of the guys I like at 10 (Knecht, Holland, Williams - even if they're off the board I'm good with Salaun or Carter) and at 22 we can draft one of the guys who is going to slip (Dillingham would be a dream and I would also be super happy with Ware - plus there are some other names I am good with - mainly guys who are slipping like Collier or Shannon).

What would Clarkson and 32 net us? 22?

Collins and 29? 23?

If so, what would 22, 23 and one of our future 1sts net us? 7?

Get Cling Cong at 7 and Holland or Dillingham at 10.

Neither Clarkson or Collins is a positive asset that will move us up in the draft unless we are taking back a worse contract. Boy was last offseason a swing and a miss with those 2 guys.

The Jazz just aren't as fun anymore. I haven't missed watching them play at all this offseason. The whole entire NBA really.
I'm getting this way with all sports unfortunately, but I am admittedly excited for something at least tonight.

Did not like that trade at the time. Still don’t.
The best thing about the trade is it helped the Jazz become a truly terrible team and keep the pick (and position themselves for an organically high 2025 pick). At least I think that was a good thing.

I think the idea with them in a trade is that if you are including future assets to move up, you can attach one of those two to make it a better deal for Utah. So yeah, they wouldn't help you move up, but you can offload them while doing so

Yep. No way we keep all three of our picks. Wouldn't be surprised if we trade out of tomorrow's draft completely
The one thing that I keep thinking about is when Ainge had 5 or 6 picks (including 2nd round) during a draft year with the Celtics and he didn't trade a single pick in spite of lots of interest.

He ended up with Jaylen Brown and...

Guerschon Yabusele
Ante Zizic
Demetrius Jackson
Ben Bentil
Abdel Nader

3 of those players didn't even make a season in the league. Nader was a summer league intrigue at best. Yabuwho?

There were tons of teams looking to trade in to that draft and the Celtics could have traded for future draft picks worst case but they opted to draft the world of wannabes instead.

He followed the 2016 draft by getting...

Jayson Tatum and...

Semi Ojeleye
Kadeem Allen
Jabari Bird

The point being that he drafted 10 players in 2 drafts in spite of having a young team.

Drafting is sometimes like throwing darts I guess. Ainge killed it at the top but then it was a lot of misses.
