What's new

Takes on the 1st and 2nd-year players....and progress if there happens to be any

Well two games ain’t enough. Its lazy and idiotic

Players could have played zero games and it’s ok to assess their potential and what player they might come. There’s this thing called the draft that people love to talk about. I would say it’s lazy and idiotic to have no opinions about a player’s future.

Nope because after the draft Cody was a can’t miss star now everyone calling him a role player after two games so sure you can talk about it, but doesn’t mean it isn’t fruitless and idiotic and shows iq’s actually having that thread. There’s nothing wrong with talking about it, still lazy and idiotic because in 6months to a year there will be receipts

I find it ironic that analyzing a player and forming an opinion over time is “lazy and idiotic” as compared to what….assuming every player is an NPC and having no opinions on them at all? In your view of things, NBA teams should actually just draw players out of a hat instead of picking the players they think our good. Any analysis of those players is lazy, idiotic, and fruitless.

Also, it may shock you, but different people have different opinions. Comparing someone like Ferg’s previous opinion to mine is apples to oranges. He was always on him and still is, I was skeptical and still am. Both of our opinions will change over time.

I think it is safe to accept that Key isn’t very good
Current tense I dont think thats a revelation.

But if you suggest he wont ever be good, then its definitely undecided. He has things he is already good at, and the biggest issue holding him back is his shot-making which has been atrocious to start the season. If he would even average the same (bad) shooting splits he had last year, he would be averaging 19 PPG and 6.5 APG at this point, and the narrative would be very different.

Eventually he needs to reach something like 45%+ from field and 36%+ from three to become a real starter caliber guard with his skillset... and its fair to doubt that he wont get there but its also fair to believe he may.

It doesn’t feel like the Jazz have seriously nailed any of their picks since the rebuild (I’m sure we have some keepers, but), so that’s all the more reason to get the best odds possible for the 2025 draft.

I think its pretty undecided. Two weeks ago the narrative here was that almost every pick we have made looks good.

I think we need to watch 20+ games this season before we start painting any kind of picture.

I'm not ready to say he won't be good in the future though. I still believe.

He is going to have an efficient 35 point game soon. Book it.

Big difference between judge and talking about a guys potential. Judge is far more of a hard line which shouldn't be taken a couple games into the season.

Semantics. Who here is "judging" and who is is just simply stating what they think about a players potential? You literally said you cannot assess a player's potential. Reference your own post.

Brice looks like he's becoming a decent spot-up shooter. However, when he tries to handle and create, his lack of speed and slow dribble is getting him in trouble and leading to turnovers.
