Why can’t we put together the same package for Blake griffin? Conley and Griffin would be the closest thing to Stockton and Malone we’ve had plus we still have Donnie and Rudy. And bogie can light it up as good as hornaceck ever did.

  1. Utah Jazz: Not trading for Kevin Love

    While the Jazz made major additions this summer with Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic and Ed Davis, trading for Kevin Love really would have put them in title contention.

    Love, 30, is still an excellent scorer and rebounder when healthy, now with championship experience under his belt. Rudy Gobert could cover up any issues he has defensively, and Utah as a whole was second in the NBA in defensive rating last season even before trading for Conley.

    The Jazz can still put together a reasonably attractive package for the five-time All-Star power forward. The combination of Joe Ingles, Dante Exum and some salary filler would make the money work, and Utah can still trade first-round picks in 2022 or 2024. While losing a fan favorite in Ingles would hurt, it would give the Jazz a star-studded starting lineup of Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Bogdanovic, Love and Gobert.

    If Utah starts to fall back in a crowded Western Conference, a trade for Love should be seriously considered.

This article is stupid. How many overpaid players do they think the Jazz could use? I like Kevin Love on the Jazz, but not for that contract

The Jazz need to add a bunch more salary to a trade to add Griffin:

Blake Griffin's 2019/20 salary: $34,234,964

Minimum salary required in a trade for Blake Griffin: $27,307,971.20
Exum + Ingles 2019/20 salary: $21,554,546

Additional Salary required in trade: $5,753,425.20

Ed Davis would pretty much have to be sent to Detroit to make the trade work--along with another player or two. The Jazz could do this next offseason by including Tony Bradley.
 
No interest in Griffin. He’d eat up far too many touches that others need, would inhibit Mitchell’s growth imo, wouldn’t have the well-defined role that Love would (I don’t want Love either) and his contract is far more than Love’s iirc, thus completely prohibiting us going forward.
 
I really like Griffin, yet I agree with you.
Honestly I'm pretty damn content and happy with the team we have. Don't really really any changes to it. Let's see how the dust settles at the end of this season. I predict we will be top 3 and a good chance at #1.

Love is a complete injury prone, we'd be paying his @** as he sits on the bench half the season and the whole playoffs. No thanks.

I'm okay with watching him until February to see if he can still contribute. If he's looking good, it might be worth it. But I wouldn't risk an entire year.

Yes, but if he’s looking good he then becomes unattainable. People are never interested in making moves for people when their stock is low because [reasons why the stock is low], but they’re interested in waiting to see if the value rebounds, thinking they’ll be able to grab it for the same cost as when it was low.
