The NBA All Star Weekend BLOWS

There's too much of:

It's as if they are following this spectacle (don't get me wrong - this show is AMAZING and an absolute classic):

And there's not clearly nearly enough:

The actual break is welcome for players who can get some time with their families, gear down a bit and recuperate. Most players probably prefer not playing and would rather just have the accolade then a game itself.

The whole weekend itself is all a bi-product of marketing and social gone awry. Couldn't care less about celebrity games, music artists extending the run-time of AS Saturday Night to jam in more commercials and plug crap I don't need.

The NBA has no interest in fixing or changing anything. Catch the Youtube highlights if you don't want to spend the time. If you want to hear Cardi B and DJ Khaled screech, tune in.

The break is cool. I am talking about the event and its staging. I figure they could make it really fantastic by focusing and displaying world class athletes... but instead its fluffy and frilly at best.

...That and I was "fishing" to see if anyone knew the "Fish that saved Pittsburgh".

I welcome it. Got a lot going on and could use more time.

Same. I've been working a lot of overtime at work and have a move to plan for in early March. I welcome the break because I won't have to worry about missing any games. At least for now...

It's kind of sad really. Just proves more and more that 1980 to 2000 was the golden age of the NBA. The all-star weekend was fun to watch, competitive, entertaining, and made you feel more connected to your favorite players. Now it's just a bunch of self-congratulagory millionaire Playboy's stroking each other. It's become a huge joke. Sad really.

Worst time of the season, thankfully I'll be in Tassie smashing beer and working on my land
