What's new

The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

One thing I've learned from living with my 86yo mother is that exaggeration is part of her life. It isn't like she is trying to impress; she just remembers things as being bigger than they were.

But I have yet to meet the person who doesn't exaggerate for effect. The president should be more careful in his details, however.

I experienced a fire in the middle of the night in an apartment complex that left me without a home for 10 days and then having to move to a new apartment. Even though my belongings only suffered smoke damage, the emotional impact of that fire lasted a long time, and has certainly made me more empathetic to those who experience a fire, large or small.

Biden did not say he lost his home to a fire, he specifically said "I can only imagine what it is like to lose your home". He said he could not go back there for about a year, which seems fair for a kitchen fire that took 20 minutes to get under control. The tweet you quoted is flat out lying. What are your thoughts about that?

I suppose you could say Biden was exaggerating what he went through in trying to establish empathy. The end is good (empathy), but that does not justify the means (exaggeration), and he should not be doing that.
Yes he did btw. Wrong again... He lied... He didn't exaggerate. C'mon guys and gal. He's lied about his house burning down before. Very nice propaganda though. People actually believed you OB.

"I don't want to compare difficulties, but we have a little sense, Jill and I, what it's like to lose a home," he said, according to remarks published by The White House.

Hers more from before...

Without this bridge, as I said earlier, it's a 10-mile detour just to get to the other side,' he told the crowd. 'And I know, having had a house burn down with my wife in it — she got out safely, God willing — that having a significant portion of it burn, I can tell: 10 minutes makes a hell of a difference.'

Intentional and malicious misunderstanding of basic English continues...

Until JazzyEggs learns his or her native language above a 2nd grade level there is no possible way to have a conversation with them.

Ok enlighten me. Educate me.

"but we have a little sense, Jill and I, what it's like to lose a home,"

A) did he lose his home like he claimed? We both know you won't answer but he didn't.

B) "And I know, having had a house burn down with my wife in it —"
Can you explain what "having a house burn down" means? I understand that's difficult... Those words are insanely tough but explain it.

He was out of his home for a period.

Having a house fire that required evacuation.

Yup he didn't lose him home. Thank you!

You conveniently forgot to address this.

I addressed it. Once you get to third grade English it might make sense to you, if your cult lets people like you have an education.
