Yeah. If only Trump had initiated something like Operation Warp Speed to develop the best vaccines in the world. If only Trump had used his platform to pressure the FDA over how slow they were moving in getting the vaccines approved. If only vaccinations had ramped to over 1 million shots per day while Trump was in office.

As for masks, unless they are a N95/KN95 they do almost nothing. They are for show. There was just an incident in Marin, California where an unvaccinated teacher managed to infect the front 2 rows of his class of students despite everyone wearing masks. There is little difference between those who think mask mandates will save us and those who think Ivermectin will save us.

The other side of that coin is someone could make the case of why this is why remote learning for schools should be in place which also isn't a pretty alternative.

At a deeper root cause, having pupil to teacher ratios of 30:1 or even more jammed into tiny classrooms and trailers is also asking for problems so it's no surprise that illnesses are going to spread and quickly. Small room, recirculated air, wearing a mask isn't going to help you when you're subjected to these conditions for eight hours a day, five days a week.

Remote learning is far, FAR worse. This happened in late May and these kids all recovered quickly. The kids in this class recovered in the blink of an eye compared to how long it will take the state of California to recover from the learning loss at having the schools shut to in-person learning for large chunks of the past 2 years.

I’m not a fan of measuring racism by gauging disparate impact but if you are then it is almost impossible to argue against teachers unions being the single most racist group in America. The learning loss resulting from the distance learning pushed by teachers unions has affected disadvantaged communities far more than the wealthy communities who can afford private schools, tutors, and more often intact 2-parent homes.

I’m just really bitter this week. My kid’s school district had imposed an indoor mask mandate, then 2 days before the school year started, changed so that now the kids have to wears masks outdoors too. They admit this is beyond the guidelines of our local health department, which is beyond the guidelines of the state health department, and of course beyond Federal guidelines. They have the gall to tell us it is to keep kids safe when THE TEACHERS DON’T HAVE TO BE VACCINATED!!!!!!!!!!

My 8-year old goes to a school where masks have to be worn all the time. He has to be PCR tested every 7 days because he is not old enough to be vaccinated. Parents are not allowed anywhere on school grounds regardless of vaccination status, and the teachers do not need to be vaccinated at all. Figure that one out.

Remote learning for kids is just like remote working for adults: works for some, but not everyone.

Children that have social anxiety, bullied or ADHD can do better working at home, but for most others, losing the social connections is huge. I'm of the opinion that both options should be present and parents should make the best choice for their child based on their needs.

Having worked from home for 18 months now, the silence in my house can be pretty deafening.
 
The fact that they literally lie right to your face and you eat it up is extremely scary. Truly how stupid and sheeplike are Democrats? Obviously pretty stupid and the Biden administration is fully aware.

Any of you see the videos where Taliban. are literally escorting American troops off the air base armed with American guns and gear? A surrender by definition that will lead to mass death and terroris.. What an absolute failure. Literally one of the biggest failure of any kind in our history. Maybe not THE biggest failure but it's definitely up there.

But hey, Democrats impeached "but Trump" because some random no name guy heard something on a phone call even though we have the transcripts that price otherwise.
 
An interesting perspective from an Afghan interpreter on the cultural ignorance of Americans in Afghanistan that hurt our ability to win over support:


A good article that talks about how those who were able to get out of Afghanistan now have a new license to life and will contribute greatly to America. It reminded me of this one summer I helped work at this kitchen in downtown SLC which helped refugees start up their own food trucks and businesses. I worked with this one refugee from Afghanistan and his sister. They were so nice. The food he made? Was amazing. I really hope he has a food truck somewhere and is finding much success.

Before the surrender people could be gay, marry who they want, women could go outside, listen to music, now they are being beaten or executed because of your president.

Yet you hate this country. Many here do. Millions trying to flee and all you do is tell us how much you hate it here.
