The Biden Administration and All Things Politics

ok- how do you feel about the Biden administration refusing to have debates and disenfranchising millions of democrats who want to vote for another candidate besides Joe Biden?
It's typical power politics. Last I checked, the Democratic Party was a private entity that made its own rues.

What do you think about Democrat presidential candidate Dean Phillips and what he says here?
That the Florida Democratic Party just saved the state a bunch of money.

Ya its an extremely powerful political party that has lots of constituents that it isn't listening to or allowing them the opportunity to participate in democracy- no biggie.
So in America we are supposed to shut the **** up and let the powerful political parties do whatever they want?

Protest all you want.

Like trump did (and is still doing)?
Trump is literally what hamilton was describing in that quote
Yes, he’s talking about personality types like Donald Trump. Distinguishing between constitutional republic vs. direct democracy isn’t really relevant to Hamilton’s warning. He’s warning us about demagogues. Each of us has the right to vote for an individual we desire to see as president. We vote for that specific office. The system we have certainly permits people to arise who will resemble the type of individual Hamilton is describing. You are interpreting it correctly. It’s not rocket science, and no, the rise of an individual like Trump is not a danger than can only happen in a direct democracy. Of course it can happen in our constitutional republic.

Heck, with the development of mass communication, things like television and the internet, it becomes even easier for such personalities to wield influence. Living in a society torn apart by the culture wars we are experiencing, that is when the time is ripe for the emergence of an authoritarian demagogue, with the very traits Hamilton described. None of this is something that we are protected from, simply by living in a constitutional republic. We are not protected by our own lack of education, we are not protected by our lack of critical thinking skills, we are not protected by the ability of a Trump to tell disaffected people exactly what they want to hear, including that it’s OK, and to be encouraged, that we hate fellow citizens that do not support the demagogue….

The chair of the Florida Republican Party, Christian Ziegler, is being accused of rape by the woman he and his wife reportedly sometimes have sex with. Ziegler denies the accusation but the investigation alone has scandalized fellow Republicans who held the Zieglers as paragons of conservative virtue. In resisting calls to resign his position, Ziegler cites the party's leader, Donald Trump, and Republican acceptance of the behavioral standard Trump has set.

Investigation documents revealed the woman told police Ziegler and his wife, Moms for Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler, had arranged a threesome the day of the encounter. But text messages show Christian Ziegler informed the woman by text that Bridget could not make it, and the woman told him she was no longer interested. “Sorry I was mostly in for her,” the woman texted. But surveillance cameras show Christian Ziegler showed up at the apartment complex five minutes after that text anyway, and he admitted to police he had sex with the woman but claimed it was consensual.

“The video of the sex act is brief in duration and the victim can be heard telling Ziegler to climax in her mouth rather than on her new shirt,” the sources said.

The nature of the video could complicate prosecution, but significant questions about consent remain.

Besides the woman telling Christian Ziegler she was no longer interested in meeting for a hookup, the accuser also told police she “was not in a place to consent because it was her day off and she had been drinking Tequila all day,” according to a search warrant released by police.

It’s also unclear if Ziegler had consent to film the encounter on his cell phone. Ziegler told police he initially deleted the video but later uploaded it to Google Drive. Police needed the warrant to obtain the video from Google.

Records show communication between the woman and Christian Ziegler as well where she tells him she was “not okay” with the encounter. “That was not cool and you didn’t bring her and then did that to me,” she said in a message to Ziegler at one point. She also said she could not work for a period of weeks after the encounter. In recorded messages, she accused him of sexual assault and he denied that. In that conversation, he also offered the woman financial help.

I liked this comment: The wife is co-founder of Mom's for Liberty - who preach parental rights, book banning and standing in judgement of those in the LGBTQ community.
Meanwhile, they're having threesomes.
I don't care what consenting adults do either so long as 1. No one gets hurt, 2. Don't preach to us about your 'holier than thou' values.

Saw this comment as well:
DeSantis gave her a $400,000 a year job running Disney's infrastructure ?
Kind of makes one wonder if she shared those cowboy boots too ?

Traditional family values right there.

We used to call what the wife did hypocritical. But in a post reality world, where 40-50 percent of the country will defend their tribe no matter how hypocritical they act, it just doesn’t matter. It does seem like those who cry the most about the decline of values are the ones with the most amount of skeletons in the closet.

I haven't filled up on gas in about a month and I remember last time I filled up that gas was a lot cheaper.

This time I was blown away by how cheap. For the 88 octane stuff it was like 2.85 at Chevron. Only cost like 46 dollars to fill up my 4 runner! I remember it costing like 88 dollars.

I have seen a handful of headlines stating that these Hunter biden charges could really hurt joe bidens campaign chances. Just another huge difference between the two parties.

A candidates son has some tax stuff and filled out a form to buy a gun incorrectly. This hurts the candidates chance in the democratic party.

A candidate makes a fake university and loses in court. A candidate commits a sexual assault and loses in court. A candidate steals from a charity and loses in court. A candidates business commits fraud and loses in court. A candidate is facing 91 current charges. One candidate (the actual candidate, not his kid mind you) has all that criming going on and this stuff actually helps the republican candidate rather than hurts him.

Bat **** crazy

$2.92 for premium today at Costco. Biden rules! Just kidding, but if I were a Trumptard praising Trump for gas prices I wouldn't be.

Why not? This administration deserves a lot of credit considering where we were in the spring of 2021. Soft landing on inflation, unemployment at historic lows, stock market skyrocketing, wages up, GDP up, we’ve never exported so much gas, all while navigating tough foreign policy land mines and a large well funded authoritarian movement domestically.

Just because Trump’s cabinet went overboard and praised Trump for every breath of life doesn’t mean that we can’t give the Biden administration credit for needed domestic investments, wealth creation policy, and stable leadership.

Figuring out a President's effect on gas prices is way beyond my pay grade. I agree that it's been stable leadership, especially compared to Agent Orange. Call me old fashioned but I'll take semi-senile to malignant narcissist/dictator any day.

My wallet and 401k definitely has seen an improvement since 2020. And thousands of us aren’t dying each day because the president wants to downplay a pandemic to better his chances of winning reelection.

I think we need to give Biden credit for a lot of good his administration has done. And it would be insane to return to the vomit that we nearly didn’t survive from 2020.
