Brantley is better than Niang.

Howard is better than Niang.

Morgan is better than Niang.

Very real possibility JWF and NWG are both better than Niang.

Bradley is better than Niang.

Exum is better than Niang.

Is there anyone who isn't better than Niang?

Um Niang was better than Bustum

It depends on match up but my preference would be to play Morgan as the 5 and Davis as the 4. If that doesn't work then you put Brantley as the 4.

I liked Brantley in summer league but after watching his highlights lately I'm not sure he's an NBA player. I hope I'm wrong but he looks too slow.

Brantley looked good tonight. He ended with 24p/8r/5a/1s/1b and made 4/5 from 3pt. He looked more confident shooting the 3. He held his own with solid position defense against the Spurs' 4s, and he was able to seal for a couple rebounds and putbacks against Chemezie Metu.

You're full of hehepeepeecaca. First of all NWG has no place on any NBA roster. Exum needed a new team for his own sake. Bradley plays a different position, as does JWF. Morgan, I haven't seen him play, or at least don't recall seeing him in summer league. Brantley could potentially be better. But Niang is a lot better than most people here give him credit and apparently Quin trusts him or he wouldn't be playing him.

Best utilized Niang is a deep bench 11th, 12th man. He's a specialist. A sniper. You bring him off the bench when a situation presents itself where you need a 3 or against certain teams in certain matchups. He does not have the versatility necessary to be a good regular rotation player. Brantley does. Morgan does. Exum effected the game in more ways. Howard flashed the necessary versatility.

He doesn't play at all-out speed and seems to pace himself and to play under control. He has a bit of a laid back demeanor, but he can turn up the motor when he needs to. He has good timing and instincts and he's pretty explosive when challenging shots and grabbing rebounds. I think he can play at the NBA level.

The way he plays might be stylistically more like Paul Pierce than Paul Millsap. He wants to handle and pass, and he wants to use hesitations and crosses when he drives.

Howard struggled a bit with NBA speed and physicality.

Brantley is doing something right at the GLeague level as he has been an integral part of the 14 wins in a row.

This is peak Cy.

Stating common knowledge?

A shooter is not a scorer and a scorer is not a shooter by default.

Royce can make a ton of wide open (because he litteraly cant even shoot or make ones that are defined as open) 3's in a game, it doesnt make him a scorer.

were talking about Brantley— and he racked up assists with this team during preseason
Mis-typed, and Brantley is definitely a player who is more comfortable in ISO. He's a slow it down and dribble it out kind of guy who kind of just does his own thing after throwing his weight around. Not saying that's who he has to be forever, but I just don't think he would be as effective in a role player role (currently) as a guy like Juwan Morgan would.

For some reason people can't take any information from me without turning it into some big argument or how I'm being a contrarian, so take what Andy Larsen had to say about him in his article he wrote a few days ago...

"Brantley is an oddball, but a talented one. He stands at just 6-foot-5, but at 250 pounds, is the heaviest player on the Jazz’s roster, weighing more than even Rudy Gobert. But despite his size, Brantley is a talented dribbler and distributor, with impressive athleticism to boot. His leaping ability makes him capable of highlight-reel dunks, blocks and rebounds.

Where Brantley needs to improve to make the NBA is in his tactical discipline. He fouls too frequently defensively, and doesn’t always have the know-how to operate in a structured offensive system. It’d also be nice if his 3-point shot went in at a higher clip. Still, he’s been an impact player in the G League, and could be in the NBA one day."

And again, Brantley is one of the only players on the Stars to have a negative OBPM on the team (at least it was before this latest game). It's because he's just an odd player who plays a style that isnt a ready made fit with what Utah does. Compare him to a guy like Morgan (A 9.4 OBPM) who is basically perfect for what the Jazz do with how high his IQ and feel for playing within a system is.

And i'm very high on Brantley as a prospect. This isnt me being negative on him in any way, it's just the facts of the situation.
