"The Jazz are bound to shoot [Milos] Teodosic an offer sheet."

If he wants $10,000,000 a year and Hill wants $25,000,000 a year I'd rather trade for Rubio. At least Rubio plays some defense and can pass - I would rather have a guy who can pass and play defense (and suck at shooting) than a guy who can't play defense.

Looks slow to me. Sneaky slow like Slow Joe and a great passer but the Warriors series made it clear that we need athleticism. But if George goes then I'm down for him as Dante's backup.

8 million a year is crazy to you? That is backup rotation player money. Jazz would be stupid not to sign him. Crazy how little respect you are giving to the European basketball.

Look at who he is playing against... I'm sure it's high level but it's nothing near what he will face in the NBA. Guys who flamed out of the league are "star" players.

Please name me one euro PG who came in after he was 26 and was worth the equivalent of the mid level exception for 2 or 3 years... I genuinely can't think of one.

The Jazz do not have an MLE.

Based on what information?

According to CBAFAQ, one of the modifications into the 2011 agreement that I find no changes in the 2017 notes is
The Room Mid-Level exception is available to teams that sign players with cap room.

the Jazz cap holds don't go over the apron, so the MLE is fully available to the Jazz.

And Joe Ingles played against those same dudes and he came over and turned out to be a player we are talking about being worth 10+ million dollars, and he isn't half as talented as Teo.

It's a different game and for some reason pg play in particular has not translated. Also it's 30 games a year far from the NBA grind. Pushing against bigger stronger players than he's played against when he's past his athletic prime likely breaks him... even if he's successful.

So yeah I'm not excited about giving good backup money to unproven talent when every time it has been tried it has not worked well enough to justify that cost.

I mean how would dwill have done in that league?

Not a pg... has elite length and came over in his mid 20s. Also was not worth 8M a year until this year.

Apples and oranges.

sure they do. The value depends on whether they will be a taxpayer, a non-taxpayer over the limit, or a "room" MLE. If you are far below the cap (>5.6M last year), MLE is moot since you have space to pay >MLE.
