What's new

The Jazz are dead last in.....

Well when you play slower with less possessions I think less rebounds is to be expected right?

Correct, injuries to Favors has not helped this either.

Fewer possessions also leads to fewer opportunities for assists.

Having said that last in the league still sucks. They can improve and get out of last or even bottom 4th, slow pace and lower possessions per game or not.

Our offense had always been built on Favors low post scoring and then Hayward.

Now with Favors having a bit of a chronic health issue, I wonder if our offense will change over time to be geared towards Hill, Hood, Hayward and Lyles? i.e., faster, more running, and more 3pt shooting.

Jazz last in pace this season (yet again) by a mile. Time for a new coach?

As long as we're outrebounding the other team it's all good.

Yup, and that's what should be more focused on, though it's not great being last in rebounding.

Still, the Jazz average 41.2 boards a game and their opponents average 40.8 boards a game for a positive differential of 0.4 boards a game. While that's not amazing it does put the Jazz right in the middle of the pack at 15th.

Compared to say a team like the Nets who are 7th in the league in boards at 45.5 a game but still have managed a -4.5 differential.

It's a pretty much identical story in assists. Last in the league but 14th in differential with a positive differential of, you guessed it, 0.4 assists.

Plenty of studies online affirm our home altitude advantage. I assume we are squandering that by playing so dammed slow. Perhaps you disagree.

Does playing slow mean less moving? I think we are grinding teams down. I have not looked this year but last year I believe we had our players running quite a bit, maybe highest in the league?

Half court offense with a ton of movement keeps player running a lot.
