The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

It’s be interesting to look back at that 23 draft about a year and a half in. Here’s my general feeling on how their stock has changed.

Wemby - Up
Miller - Neutral
Scoot - Down
Amen - Up
Ausar - Neutral
Black - Down
Coulibaly - Up
Walker - Neutral
Hendricks - Down
Wallace - Up
Howard - Down
Lively - Up
Dick - Up
Hawkins - Down
Bufkin - Down
George - Up
JHS - Down
Jaquez - Up
Podz - Up
Whitmore - Up

Pretty good draft class imo. More guys with stock up than down for sure.

Bad-ish news for the Jazz, it looks like the Pistons pick will convey to the Wolves this year, so they will have a pick in the late teens this year. Or it gives them a legitimate trade piece to make an upgrade to the roster this deadline.

I always thought that pick was pretty good. It was inevitable that the Pistons were going to be a lower end playoff team sometime in the next three years. I wonder what their direction will be....my guess is that they will keep the pick and draft with it. If they were going to double down on this year, I don't think they make the Towns trade.

I wonder if there will be a rift between the FO and coach. FO seems to want to build around the draft a bit, but the coach isn't playing Dillingham or Shannon. I would bet on the MIN having a different coach next season.

He was so brutally bad- it’s interesting to see the talent people see prior to a draft eventually emerge- gives me hope for Cody.
Hope? Scoot still sucks and he's actually been worse this year. Anyone can have a random shooting night like that.

A 32% perimeter shooter has no business taking ten 3pt shots unless they're a tank commander... which Scoot basically is.

KAT Trade was mostly saving money reason. I agree with you on the fact that currently Minny does not seems to have a clear direction between FO and coach. Playing only 8 guys night after night when you have old Mike and Rudy not getting younger is strange for me .

Too bad for Portland, haven't watched any of their games, so was hoping for their sake (and the sake of our pick) it was somewhat representative.

What if Jimmy Butler got traded to the Nuggets? I know it sounds stupid, but this works and I think they win/win.

Nugs get

Jimmy Butler
Pelle Larsson
2026 2nd round pick

Heat get

MPJ
Zeke Nnaji
Dario Saric
2027 first
2028 second

Now, this seems a little whack. And I am not an avid trade idea maker. But, financially and future-wise for both teams, this seems good.

Scoot has had a string of good games recently. He may make a comeback. In his last 4 games, he's averaged 25/4/8.

It is a little crazy how sometimes a team just has another team's number. Dallas owning OKC is not easily explainable, except that they just must be in their heads.
Kind of makes sense. Dallas has great lob threat and great players who utilize lob threats. We saw how good Walker was vs them because of the lack of size.
