The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Mavs can end the series at home in six games. If not, I'm down with these other game sevens. These playoffs are awesome (though it was disappointing seeing the Celtics dismantle Cleveland so easily).
Cleveland put all their eggs in the basket held by Donovan "Fool's Gold" Mitchell. He just cannot lead a team to playoff success. Sad because I like Donovan. But he's really just empty stats.

My definition of a chucker is more about shot selection and decission making. If you take open shots because of an action that made you open or the opponent sagging off of you, you are supposed to shoot... especially if we hope he actually becomes a valuable NBA player. He doesnt have many other paths with his skillset and size.

Regardless it is well documented that Hardy pushed him for higher volumes and told him to take open shots. So no matter how you or anyone defines a chucker, he was doing what the coach wanted and it wasnt all about his own tendencies.

Just saying that you won’t find your definition’s truth in those numbers either. Those numbers don’t truly reflect taking “open” shots in the way you might think it does. What it really reflects is a lack of ability to get to the basket.

I would not say his decision making was good. For example, if he never improved, we would simply say he sucked. It’s ok because he was a rookie, but it’s definitely an area for improvement.

Looking at that chart..... Boston is doing it the best. (Maybe OKC) Ideally you would be down on the list and at the same time one of the best teams in the league.

Boston is pretty low on the list and had the best record in the league and is close to a lock to be in the finals.

I wonder who did most of the team building for Boston......

What’s with coaches letting their teams take massive runs during games without timeouts? Even though the half was a few mins away, Jason, get your team under control. Instead, Dallas seemed to give up basket after basket with turnover after turnover right before the half. I swear it was a one possession game 3 mins ago. Take a timeout, have your team take a breath, and draw up a play. My goodness.
