What's new

The Non-Jazz NBA Thread in the Jazz Section

Its also amazing to me that the Bulls don't walk out with a couple seconds here. OKC has infinity picks including seconds... you can't squeeze 1 or 2 from them?

Wonder if this means OKC is looking wing/big in draft or nothing really at all. Would think Bulls are out of the Topic business maybe. Maybe it has no implications on the draft at all... shrug.

It kind of ends their run of “we’re just letting the guys develop together organically”. IMO, this makes is more likely they go for Kessler. They will have to commit a decent amount of money to Caruso next year….I don’t think long term big money will go to Hartenstein.

I don't quite understand this for OKC. They already have a bunch of 3&D guard and wings, so getting Caruso isn't a huge upgrade. I'm also not sure what Chicago is doing, so I don't get this from both sides.

12 and we get our pick back for Walker and 29?

The fifth guy in their playoff lineup wasn’t great. Caruso is a HUGE upgrade over Giddey/Joe/Wiggins for them.

I think Boston showed that you can just keep stacking these 3&D guards with success. Plug AC into the Giddey minutes and I think OKC is better. If they improve their backup big situation which is the low hanging fruit... they are pretty stacked.

They got what they could get for Giddey most likely.

Also think it's more of a sign that OKC isn't overly concerned with getting bigger

I really like Caruso, but I don't think I agree, at least on the HUGE part.

Wallace, Joe, and Wiggins should all be improved next year. I'm not sure Caruso will be a HUGE improvement over any of them.

I think Caruso is the best perimeter defender in the league. Maybe Cason improves, but he has a long way to go. Caruso also shot the ball really well last season. I think he’s not just an upgrade over those guys, but Dort as well.

In any case, you can never have too many 3&D guys. Giddey wasn’t going to help them in the playoffs, they weren’t going to get a better player than Caruso.
